NEWS OF FULLERTON
HELD FOR KEEPING LIQUOR IN STATION
Walter J. Van Veeast, of Los Alamitos, charged with keeping liquor in his oil station, gave bond for $300 yesterday before Judge French, and his case was continued until Friday morning.
George Carlson, of Echo Park, Los Angeles, was arraigned before Judge French on the charge of speeding, and fined $10.
J. G. Hirschm charged with cutting the corner, was fined $10.
YORBA LINDA WOMAN DIES
Mrs. Mary Ohlman, 76, died last evening at her home in Yorba Linda, having been a resident of that place 10 years. Funeral services take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Methodist church of Fullerton, which is being used as the Seale funeral chapel until the new chapel is completed, with a Christian Science reader in charge. Cremation is announced for Thursday at 1 o'clock in Los Angeles.
ATTEND LEAGUE MEETING
A number of the young people of the Methodist church at La Habra attended the Epworth League convention held at Corona Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those attending were the pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Smith, the Misses Esther Stubbs, Margaret Jones, Ruth Peabody, Alta Canfield, and Messrs James Balcom, Merritt Canfield, Alfred Kniss, Edmund Canfield, and Joseph Balcom.
ENTERTAIN AT DINNER
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wickersheim entertained with a dinner party the employees and their families of the Wickersheim Implement Co. Sunday at the Orange-co park. Following the dinner, the afternoon was quietly spent. Twenty-two guests enjoyed the affair.
REALTORS MEET FRIDAY
The regular meeting of the Fullerton Realty Board will be held Friday evening at the McFarlane Cafe where a banquet will be served, it was stated today. Preparations are being made to have a band of speakers present.
COLLEGE STUDENT ILL
Miss Florence Ford, of Whittier College, a resident of Fullerton, was yesterday stricken with appendicitis and was brot home in a Seale ambulance.
FULLERTON BRIEFSE
The third concert of the Orange-co Symphony Orchestra is to be held tonight at the Anaheim high school auditorium, Harold E. Walberg, of Fullerton, director.
Mrs. H. C. Newton left last evening over the Santa Fe for Winneconne, Wis.
Mary Stanton left this morning over the Santa Fe for Niagara Falls, N. Y.
Mrs. Julius Dertzel of Montebello underwent an operation this morning at the Fullerton hospital.
Mrs. Reese and Mrs. Johnston will represent the ladies aid of the First Presbyterian church at the meeting to be held today at Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Marcott who have been wintering in Long Beach from Minnesota have started on their return trip.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Marson from Dakota who have been visiting for some time with Mr. and Mrs. N. Holmberg left for Long Beach, where they expect to visit for a month.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Harp are visiting for several days with relatives in Orcutt.

PLACENTIA INFANT DIES
The infant baby of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Muntoz died last evening at Placentia at the age of two months from pneumonia. Funeral services are announced for tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at Yorba church, with interment in the Yorba cemetery, J. E. Seale, funeral director.
Brea News
BREA, April 25.—(Spl.) Mr. Clifford Henson of the Hole lease will entertain with a musical at the Brea Christian church next Thursday evening.
The little son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sullivan is very ill at their home on North Madrona-ave.
Miss Beulah Dannielly on North Flower-st is still quite ill, but slowly gaining strength after several weeks in bed.
The ladies of the Christian church will serve the C. of C. in the Craig hall Monday night. They know how to put up an appetizing meal that pleases.
Miss Wilson of Los Angeles was a caller at Miss Edith Spicer's Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Merrifield called at the Fullerton hospital Sunday to see Rev. Spicer. He is very much better.
Mrs. J. E. Reynolds with Mrs. Chambers of West Coast called at the home Mrs. J. A. Mabee and family Sunda yafternoon at Whittier.

WEST COAST, April 25.—(Spl.) Master Clayton Robb of West Coast lease was one among the lucky numbers Sunday at Newport Beach, he having landed a large halibut.
Mrs. Sieber and daughter, Regina, were Anaheim visitors Sunday.
Rev. C. H. Daul called to see Rev. W. E. Spicer at the Fullerton hospital Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Floyd Tunis of Los Angeles spent the week-end with his parents, wife and babies returned home with him after a week's visit with the former's mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Tunis.
M. Chambers, wife and son spent a very pleasant evening at the home of Geo. W. Wolfe and family of La Habra last Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Tunis with their son, Floyd Tunis, and family of Los Angeles spent a delightful day Sunday at Newport Beach fishing etc.

NEW YORK, April 25.— Marshal Joffre of France, marched in triumph down Fifth avenue and received the keys of the city from Mayor John F. Hylan. He appeared exhausted by the strain of the entertainment, and soon after visiting the mayor went to his hotel and took a nap.

PEKIN CUT OFF AS ARMIES NEAR CITY
PEKIN, April 24.—At noon today Pekin was completely cut off by rail from south China.
The Pekin-Hankow railroad, the last remaining open, has been obstructed by the warring factions of northern China.
The forces of Chang Tso-Lin and Wu Pei Fu are reported only about seven miles apart and their lines are within 15 miles of Pekin.
Efforts at mediation so far have been unsuccessful.
It is reported that the allied guards at Tien Tsin plan to co-operate in keeping open the Pekin-Tien Tsin railroad.

ARREST ALL OVER 12 YEARS
MANCHESTER, Ky., April 25.—All persons over 12 years of age in the Mill Creek neighborhood of Clay county will be arrested, if an order to that effect issued by Circuit Judge H. J. Johnson can be executed. The order is designed to break up lawlessness. Recently county officers searching for moonshiners were ambushed. Two hundred warrants were issued.
