4 BIG VAUDEVILLE ACTS AT CALIFORNIA
Four acts of distinctive merit will be found in the vaudeville road show which is to be seen at the California Theatre. Melklejohn and Dunn have arranged a show that should be especially pleasing to the theatre goers of Anaheim tomorrow.
Mark Carnahan and Jeanette Fields are entertainers that really entertain. Miss Fields has a voice that is golden and her selections include almost every type of song, ranging from the old songs of the south to the popular syncopated numbers of today.
Mantell and Roberts are known as two of the most versatile entertainers in vaudeville. Mr. Roberts gives a number of clever song impersonations and is ably assisted by his pretty partner in furnishing fifteen minutes of smiles.
Jane Courthope and her company of players hold the headline position on this bill in their sketch, "Our Family." This playlet has to do with a mother who is too good to her family. It contains a number of novel situations and is most capably acted by a cast which includes Rose Forrester, Nell Hastings and Peyton Forrester.
From the eastern vaudeville circuits come Meehand and Frazzee in their novelty offering "Here and There In the Land of Vaudeville." They promise to hold the interest of their audience all thru their act.
Katherine Mac Donald's latest comedy drama, "Stranger Than Fiction," will be seen on the screen in addition to the vaudeville. This picture is different from most of the photoplays Miss Mac Donald has appeared in and contains any number of thrills.

Enclosed Fords Are Finer Than Ever
Many added conveniences and refinements are to be seen in the Ford enclosed cars now being displayed by the local authorized Ford dealer, George Dunton.
The interior of both the coupe and the sedan is now finished. In an attractive shade of walnut brown broadcloth; and the seats are upholstered with a similar material threaded with chalked ebony-stripe. Heavy floor rugs give an added touch of comfort. Lifts, of a special design, minimize the effort of raising or lowering the windows. Door bumpers insure a tighter fitting, and new door grips, both inside and out, add to the rider's convenience.
The demand for Ford enclosed cars has been unusually high during the past two months. Although production has been speeded up in the Ford factory at Detroit, sales continue to exceed the output, making it necessary for purchasers in many parts of the country to wait for their cars. Local dealers say this is the reason they have been urging customers to place their orders as early as possible.

Hollo Folks:
Well in dear Old Paris the style setters tried to originate something new Sunday. One great dancer had a live bird imprisoned on her hat but the women were outshown by the 'dear men.' It must take considerable nerve to create a sensation in Paris these days, but the men did that little thing with their ties, vests and socks.
Some accomplishment for the men, while in another place in this little Cold World the lowly Germans and Russians and Japanese were hatching up a separate treaty, which demonstrates that there are men and men.
Some day the treaty builders may create more sensation than the style builders. They will bear watching.
The style builders will not harm anyone except it be some week minded simp that attempts to imitate their tom foolery.
Germany licked the World minus the United States, and with the man power of Russia and Japanese fleet, she could make it Dern hot for the World plus the United States.
She might figure some day that by slaping a few nations about she could wipe out the war debts that are threatening the life of the German nation.
America had better watch the slow moving German rather than the swift moving radiantly bedecked Parisian.
What say you?

Placentia News
PLACENTIA, April 19.—The Eastern sunrise service was held on Tuf-free hill just as Old Sol peeped over the distant mountains, in the presence of about 400 people. This beautiful sight was heralded by a cornet solo, "The Holy City" played by Warren Bradford. The invocation was pronounced by Rev. H. P. Gage. A beautiful vocal solo, "Just as It Began to Dawn" was sung by Mrs. Ralph G. Rohrer. The Placentia chorus sang "Break Forth Into Joy," after which all joined in singing the hymn, "I Say to All Men, Christ Is Risen." Mr. S. C. Hartranft read that wonderful poem of Van Dyke's—"God of the Open Air." An Easter anthem, "Unfold Ye Portal" was sung by the chorus. Then followed a very straight forward Easter sermon by Rev. Herbert Booth Smith, D.D.
At the close of the address the audience sang the old familiar but stately hymn—"Come Thou Almighty King." In the absence of Rev. Noal the benediction was pronounced by Rev. Gage.
