ANTI-RED GENERAL RADIO BROADCAST ARRESTED IN N.Y.
NEW YORK, April 7—General Gregorlie Semenoff, Russian anti-Red leader, is under $25,000 bail here, charged with the theft of goods worth $475,000 in Trans-Balkalia in 1919. For five hours he was grilled at the Waldorf Astoria. The arrest was asked by the receivers of the Yourevata Home and Foreign Trade Company from which he is charged with having taken woolen goods and furs worth $275,000. An affidavit from Major General William S. Graves, commander of the American Expeditionary Forces in Siberia, accompanied the request. Both the company and Graves were said to have declared Semenoff a bandit and ruffian.
In an interview the General said Japan, Great Britain and France had supplied him with money during three months of 1917 and throut 1918. In reply to the charge of General Graves that he had killed two American soldiers on post, the general said his son had done so by a ghastly error. Full punishment for all involved in this was given by Semenoff, he declared.
