Monday, April 3, 1922 LARGE AUDIENCES AT TEMPLE REVIVAL One of the largest audiences ever assembled in the White Temple gathered together for the morning service yesterday. The ritual for the day was set aside and the revival spirit was given right-of-way. Many of those who have recently been converted and united with the church were present and every one was full of expectancy. Dr. Geissinger spoke upon the passage in Mark which tells of the father bringing his son to Jesus and argued that it was wise not simply that the children but that all of us should be brought into the friendship of Jesus. He said that a man's life had more possibilities of disaster and peril in it than the biggest and most powerful car ever sent down the road and yet we turn our children out on the road of life without much thought of what is to become of them. He said that you could buy the best orange tree that any nursery ever started and plant it in the cellar and it would die. He said you didn't need to plan it in the cellar, either, so kill it. You could plant it in the richest soil in Orange co., which he thought was likely as rich as any in the world, from what he had heard, and yet neglect that tree and it will die. It is just that way with our lives. All we need to do is to neglect them and they will wither and die spiritually. He gave the history of a number of great Christians and showed how they had all begun early in life to follow Christ and insisted that if we do not bring the influence of Christianity to bear upon the lives of our children evil influences would sweep them into hell. Seventeen converts were baptized in the morning and eleven were received into the church and 14 requested that their letters be transferred from other churches. Next Sunday a number of children will be received into preparatory membership and the first Sunday in May a service for the baptists of babies will be held. The morning prayer meetings for women will be continued this week and an evening prayer meeting for the women will be held each day at the church at 7 o'clock. Heninger prominent Santa Anan, died suddenly late Saturday and will be buried from Smith & Tuthill's chapel, Santa Ana, at 10 a.m. Tuesday. He had returned from a trip down town for groceries and after eating an apple, complained he felt badly. While Mrs. Heninger stepped down the walk to pick up the evening paper, he died, presumably from heart failure. He was one of the best known men in Santa Ana, where he had been active in developing the southwest section of the city. He came to the county seat in 1896, buying 34 acres in the Palmer tract. Since then he had built 150 houses and has been interested in the citrus industry. SEARCH FOR HERR IN SAN DIEGO NOW Search was turned to San Diego today for M. L. Herr, missing since he fled, presumably with a bullet in his hand, after knocking from the running board of his car, Marshal E. R. Rudy, of Brea, who had accosted him for speeding and found a bottle of liquor on his person. Reports came from the border city that a man who gave his name as John F. McGrath had been admitted to the St. Joseph's hospital there suffering from an unexplained bullet wound. He is said to have become unconscious and when questioned later couldn't tell how he sustained the wound. While Marshall Rudy wired the San Diego authorities to hold the hospital patient until positively identified, Sheriff Jackson was inclined to believe Herr had fled to Arizona, Herr was shot in the abdomen. SOVIETS EAVOR GERMANY BERLIN, April 3. "The soviets are convinced that Germany is primarily qualified to participate in largest measure in Russia's reconstruction, not alone because of here geographical location, but for purely technical reasons." So declares George Tchitcern, soviet minister of foreign affairs, who has arrived here on route to the Genoa conference. "The Soviet government unconditionally rejects the proposal for an international reconstruction syndicate, which was launched at the Cannes conference." He added. "Special agreements with individual groups of interests is the only plan the Soviet government will consider. "RADIO MOVIE" IS LATEST NEW YORK, April 3. Plans are being perfected here whereby the players in a movie will speak their lines through the radio while the movie is being shown, so that the "speakles" will be united with the "movies." The participants in the play will watch its showing so as to time themselves exactly with the showing of the lines they speak. Harry J. Powers, Jr., is the inventor of the "radio movie." In an insane frenzy caused by brooding over spiritualism, Margaret Lindaner, 44, seized a butcher knife at her home at Richmond Beach, north of here, today and completely severed her left hand. As she was hacking at her elbow her young daughter interfered. She is reported dying from a loss of blood.
