THURSDAY, MARCH 30, 1922 SPORTS COACH ANNOUNCES ANAHEIM ENTRIES Anaheim high athletes are all set for the Orange-co track and field meet, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 1, on the Santa Ana eval. The preliminaries will be held in the morning and finals in the afternoon. Coach Youngman has some good material to send to the meet and he is expecting them to bring home some points. Youngman has entered the following: Cook in the 100, 440 and 220-yd. dashes and shot put, discus and relay race. Clayes, 100-yd., dash, 220 low hurdles, broad jump and relay. Briggs 440 and 880-yd., dash and relay. Mann, 880-yd., mile and relay. J. Clark, 880-yd. W. Jones, 880-yd. I. Holder, mile. Zahh, pole vault and high jump. Dahlman, high jump. Gless, shot and discus. V. Rees, 120 high hurdles and relay. Howe, relay. It was at first believed Santa Ana and Fullerton would compete in the county events this year but would go in with schools of larger size but as arrangements could not be otherwise made, they will have their entries. They will join another league next year. Whittier, the only school outside of Orange-co, is in the Orange league and has sent in entries. Other schools in the league are Orange, Huntington Beach, Capistrano, Tustin, Garden Grove, Anaheim, Santa Ana and Fullerton. GRAMMAR SCHOOL HOLDS H. Make me an offer for 25 boulevard in China Valley GRAMMAR SCHOOL HOLDS H. S. 4 TO 3 Fullerton high school boys' baseball team yesterday afternoon defeated Fullerton grammar school 4 to 2. The grammar school boys held them a pretty even game throut, losing in the last inning. The high school girls defeated the grammar school girls Tuesday evening at the grammar school in an indoor baseball game by 22 to 4. Leroy Annin of the grammar school team, who was recently injured in a game, was able to enter the play again yesterday. The Fullerton Jail school girls are playing the Anheim girls this afternoon. JUNIORS LOSE TO OLIVE Playing at Oliveast evening, the baseball nine of the junior high school was defeated by the neighboring school 9 to 2. The Olive lads will play a return game next Tuesday. Playing on the local team were Hollingworth, Portillo, Wilson, Glis, Duckworth, Pomeroy, Alsp, Bishop, Merrill, Morales, and Spencer. Several machine loads of rooters accompanied the boys. ANAHEIM VS. SANTA ANA Santa Ana and Anaheim first team baseball men met on the Santa Ana diamond this afternoon for another of the county league games. Anaheim is boasting a fast team and a victory is expected. The second teams will meet on the local grounds tomorrow. The first team players are B. Cook, Clayes, Newkirk, Mann, Carroll, Janss, Neuley, Celist, Giese, Schacht, Bushard and C. Cook. 33 NEW WELLS STARTED Oil field operations reported the week ending March 25, show 33 new wells started, as compared with 26 previous week. The total new wells this year is 294, as compared with 332 the same date last year. Tests for water shut-off this week 34, compared with 32 previous week. Yearly total to date 339; total to same date last year 345. Deepening or redrilling jobs 19, compared with 16 preceding week. Total to date this year 184; total to same date last year 187. Abandonments numbered 6 this week, compared with 8 preceding week. PASADENA FORBIDS MORNING DANCING PASADENA, March 30.—Dancing between midnight and six a.m. will be barred hereafter, except by special permit, the authorities announce. Rules against intimate postures in dancing are laid down. The rules in full are: Persons under 18 years of age shall not be allowed in a public dance without a chaperon. Return checks shall not be issued to any persons. No intoxicated person shall be admitted and no drinking of intoxicating liquors shall be allowed in the dance hall or in any room connected therewith. No vulgar, suggestive or cheek to cheek dancing shall be allowed. No music dancing or any dance containing suggestive or repulsive contortions of the human body shall be allowed. Smoking is prohibited in the room or hall used for dancing. No person shall be admitted to a public dance hall after notification from the chief of police of the expulsion of such person from any other public dance hall in the city of Pasadena. Boisterous conduct of any sort is prohibited. The use of profanity is prohibited. These rules shall be kept posted in dance halls, dressing rooms and ladies' rooms, to which patrons of a public dance hall are admitted. KANSAS PICNIC IN SYCAMORE GROVE With more than 60,000 Kansasans in Southern California the call is out for a mighty rally under the auspices of the Pasadena Association.
