MOTOR TO BALDY
The Arnold W. Walker family, Mrs. Clara W. Gibbs and son, R. F. Gibbs and Fred Winters formed a motor party to Mt. Baldy Sunday, leaving early in the forenoon. They found snow almost any depth, from a few inches to three feet, and enjoyed snowballing and making snow men to the utmost.
They drove to the end of the auto road, then hiked a distance of about two miles, creating an appetite which made the lunch they carried along taste like a Christmas dinner.
They report the roads full of auto loads of pleasure seekers, and on the return trip, about five o'clock, many were making their way up. A few machines fere stalled along the road in the snow.

Twenty seated at five tables each are decorated individual of the following pastel blue, lavender, yellow. The place cards were guess as often as he hand-painted French ladies with maline scarfs in the colors matching the french bouquets which centered the tables on which they were used. The favors were rose cups filled with candles in the same dainty colors. During the salad course of the sumptious luncheon a guessing contest of important dates of the year was introduced which was followed by an invitation to the dining room for dessert. This room was a bower of beauty. The table was centered with an enormous pink rose from which radiated streamers to each place, each ribbon terminating in the correct answer to the question of April 26th which is the date set for the nuptial ceremony. The dessert of carmel whip with whipped cream and lady fingers in individual containers of hand painted flower pots each decorated with a spray of sweet pea blossoms added to the charm. The afternoon hours were devoted to "500" high scores being won by Mrs.
A. V. Smith and Mrs. Raymond Smith and consolation by Mrs. Lealand Smith all-of Fullerton.
Assisting Mrs. McKinlay was her sister and niece. Mrs. E. T. Thompson and daughter, of Los Angeles.
George Arliss is seen again today in "Disraeli" at the California. It is the story of how a great statesman played on life's chess-board with the human pawns that sought his overthrow.
"The Man From Lost River" is seen at the Fairyland. Also Harold Lloyd in "Never Weaken."
