1ST COUNTY TENNIS TOURNEY TOMORROW
The first of the series of tennis tournaments over the county will start tomorrow. Anaheim tennis players have got in some good practice since the meet with Fullerton last week and expect to show off at Orange tomorrow. Santa Ana will meet at Fullerton, Whittier at Tustin. Huntington Beach drew a bye. Anaheim took two matches from Fullerton last week and expect twice that many from Orange tomorrow.
SANTA ANA FAILS TO GET BIG MEET
The Southern California Inter-scholastic track meet will not be held at Santa Ana this year, but will take place there in 1923, Seth Van Patten, head of the league, told Coach Ray Adkinson today. Van Patten said the new track could not be made sufficiently fast in time for the meet on April 22. The meet will be held on Patterson field, Occidental college, instead of on polytechnic field.
44 CALIF. REALTY BOARDS JOIN ASSN.
It was announced today by James E. Stewart that Anaheim headed the list of sixteen realty boards in California to be admitted to membership in the national association at the quarterly conference held early the month by the national executive board. Washington. It is said that brings the total California boards of realtors to 44, exceeding by 50 per cent the number of boards of realtors in any other state in the Union.
The number of realty boards in the state which have not yet affiliated with the national association is 21. These will be given an urgent invitation to become members before the national convention in San Francisco, it stated.
The boards recently elected to membership were: Anaheim, Glendale, El Centro, Burlingame, San Mateo, Alameda, Paso Robles, Merced, San Bernardino, Santa Monica, Lodi, Whittier, Reedley, Richmond, Dinuba, Selna, and Van Nuys.

LOS ANGELES, March 21.—Pledges for more than 50 per cent of the stock to form the Union Oil Associates, Inc., a holding corporation started for the purpose of preventing control of the Union Oil Co. by Shell-Union interests, have been received. Approximately 24,000 shares more than required have been obtained.
PROHI FORCES INCREASED
LOS ANGELES, March 21—The local prohibition forces will be increased and more space provided for them, Samuel F. Rutter, new prohibition director for California, announced here. Rutter commended the work his assistant, Hazeltine, was doing. The forces connected with the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices will be interchanged at intervals in the interest of efficiency.
MISSISSIPPI ON RAMPAGE
MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 21—The Mississippi river has risen to approximately 36 feet. A flood worse than that of 1916 is feared. Government engineers predicted 43 feet. A general flood warning has been sent out by the Weather Bureau.

WASHINGTON, March 21. The deficiency appropriation bill has been signed by President Harding. It provides for more than $130,000,000 including about $94,000,000 for the veterans' bureau and $8,000,000 for fuel for the navy. The latter item is far short of the navy's needs.
