SPORT ELKS DEFEAT ALEX GIANTS BY 7 TO 4 Anaheim won the third and deciding game of the series with the Alexander Giants yesterday afternoon before the biggest pounce or fans that has ever witnessed a game there. The score was 7 to 4. The game was featured by some heavy stick work. Three of the smoked Irishmen crashed out home runs while Glenn Callan, just back from a siege of the flu, and Stephons wielded the willow in like manner. Both Callan and Stephens scored a man ahead of him. Stephens' crash was the longest ever made on the high school field. By the time the fielder had retrieved it, the big husky had crossed the pan. About everything that happens in a baseball game happened. B. Kyles turned his back on one of Harry Hughes' curves. When it broke over the plate and Umpire Knowlton called it a strike, Kyles used some unlady-like language. Kyles was ordered off the field. This caused some comotion for a time. The fans displayed more than the usual amount of criticism of the umpire's decisions. There were more than the usual number of close plays yesterday. Knowlton knows the rules all right, but he doesn't always see what's going on. Manager Billy Kuott has very generously been permitting small boys to see the games without charge. Following complaint that they had been molesting gardens and groves in and near the field, Knott announced they would have to desist or else he would be compelled to discourage their attendance by charging an admission fee.
