ENTERTAIN FOR CHICAGO GUEST YORBA LINDA, March 17.—(Spl.) Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Seamong entertained in honor of Mrs. C. Kinsman, of Chicago, at their studi home Tuesday evening. A five-course dinner was served at 7:00 o'clock. The festive board was made exceptionally beautiful by Mrs. Seamans' hand painted china done in pure white and gold by her own hands, harmonizing with the color scheme of yellow flowers. There were gathered about the table Mrs. C. Kinsman, Mr. and Mrs. George Kinsman, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Remsberg, Miss Katherine Remsberg and Miss Ruth Walker of Santa Ana, Mr. and Mrs. George Shaw and Miss Doris Shaw of Fullerton; Joseph Sanchez and Mr. and Mrs. Seamans. After dinner the guests returned to the studio for a musical treat where they enjoyed many selections of grand opera on the new Colonial Brunswick, interspersed by several of the late popular numbers to which some of the guests enjoyed dancing, and best of all Joseph Sanchez favored the gathering with several selections in English, Spanish, and Italian so beautifully sung in his charming voice. It was indeed a pleasant occasion for every one present. DANCING At Seal Beach EVERY SUNDAY From 7 to 11:15 Tom Moore's Peppy Players From Farmer to Consumer Op. S. P. Depot W. Anaheim DAIRY FEEDS J. Smith SANTA FE WELLS NEAR "PAY" SAND With Oil Operators Santa Fe Springs is still holding the operators in suspense. With wells seemingly near the "pay" sand the spell will be broken inside of the next week or ten days. The Standard Oil Company has two wells, the Wolfskill and the Hepler showing oil in what looks like commercial quantity. Wolfskill No. 1 is 4300 and the Hepler 3750. The Amalgamated Oil Compnay's Dellugge at 4000 feet looks very good, and should be ready to try out in a few days. The big gas well of the General Petroleum Company at Springs No. 1 proved a disappointment to every one but its owners. At 2960 this well showed considerable gas and special precautions seemed necessary to prevent a blow-out and a repetition, of the Union's misfortunes. On drilling out and bailing down the well made a gas flow for a few minutes only. The water broke in and it will be necessary to recemet. Interest will center somewhat on the Nevada-Ventura from now on. The cement has been drilled out and the work is ready to go ahead. Some good showings have already been found and production is being considered at 3500 feet. Montebello development continues to go forward without much fuss or feathers. The McGlinley Co.'s brought in a 200-bbl well. "Back Pay" is seen today at the California, being taken from the story by Fanny Hurst.
