REBEKAH SCHOOL OF INSTRUCTION IS NOTABLE EVENT
THE semi-annual Rebekah School of Instruction was held yesterday in Fullerton when that lodge was hostess, and was attended by a large number of Anaheim Rebekahs. Fully three hundred fifty members of the order were present and the day was one of particular pleasure as well as benefit.
Several Grand Chapter officers were present, among them Mrs. Fannie M. Clancy, president of the Rebekah Assembly of California, who presided. Other notable women were Mary E. Pierce, vice president; Eola M. Cyrus, secretary; Stella M. Merick, junior past president; May Reynolds, warden; Fannie M. Lacy, past president; also trustee of the Rebekah Orphans Home, all of these being of the California Rebekah Assembly. District Deputy President Mrs. Mary L. Swift, of Huntington Beach, and past president, Ada Madison, other Rebekahs of high degree, were also present. At 6 o'clock last evening, Miss Beck, noble grand of Fullerton lodge, entertained these officers at dinner, with Mrs. Ethel Golter, R. S. to N. G., and Rose Goodwin, vice grand.
Seven Rebekah lodges compose the district, which was paid a high compliment by the visiting officers, in that it is considered one of the first in the state, and it is with delight that the journey south is always made by them. The banquet served at noon was a sumptuous affair and was a happy hour or informality.
After closing the afternoon session, a special assembly meeting was held, when the grand officers gave the degrees. Anaheim Rebekahs who were honored with seats in the meeting were the Mesdames Pearl Fergus, Marie Brunagin, Elizabeth Machleb, Frank Gates and Miss Elizabeth Mang, all past presidents.
In the evening the Fullerton lodge conferred the initiatory work upon four candidates and the elaborate

ANAHEIM FRIENDS CONGRATULATE NEWLYWEDS
A quiet wedding was solemnized today at Santa Ana by Justice Cox, when Miss Avis Coffey became the bride of Arthur Bowen of Huntington Beach. The only attendants of the couple were the sister of the bride, Miss Agnes Coffey, and her fiancée.
Mrs. Bowen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Coffey of the Graham Loftus Lease, and has been an employee of the Union Oil Co. at Brea for several years. Mr. Bowen is a prominent young business man of Huntington Beach, and it is there that the young couple will make their home after their return from a brief honeymoon trip.
The young couple have a host of friends in Anaheim, who extend them their hearty congratulations.
EBELL CLUB ENTERS RETAIL BUSINESS
"Good afternoon, ladies, can't I interest you in our self-wringing sanitary mop?" This is the pleasant question with which Saturday afternoon shoppers will be greeted as they are going about their duties along the principal streets, by members of the Ebell club.
For Ebell ladies are going to sell mops, and sell a lot of them. The effort is in behalf of the new club house, of course, and in the lobbies of Stroup's Market. Kitchen's Public Market, Lakeman & Renner, Falkenstein's and other places, two demonstrators with mops and buckets will prove the worth of their wares, between the hours of 1 and 6 p.m. These implements of cleanliness are of simple construction, reasonable price, and inestimable value, and the Saturday morning job of "mopping up" after the baking is finished will become a pleasure with one of them.

PRETTY LUNCHEON IN ELKS' CLUB FOR GOING MEMBERS
NOTHER social function held in the new Elks club house was the meeting yesterday of the B. G. M. club, members of which live in Placentia, with Mrs. Ralph McFadden, of Anaheim, as hostess. The affair was a compliment to Mrs. E. C. Normandy and her daughter, Mrs. Henry Tuffree, the meeting being one week ahead of the regular date, that they might attend before leaving on March 22 for a two months' trip to Hawaiian Islands.
The luncheon was a green and white luncheon, the tables-being arranged in a letter "U". Asparagus fern trailed the inner edges and yellow jonquils were placed at intervals among the feathery vines. Four courses were served, the service begin-ning at 1:30.
A visit over the club house was of decided pleasure to the ladits, many of whom had not before been in the pretty building. Cards formed the entertainment of the afternoon, and the best players of five hundred on this occasion were the Mesdames Henry Tuffree, who was given first prize; Arthur Mann, second, and Herbert Sullivan, consolation. Mrs. Tuffree was presented with a book, "Brass," which she will enjoy on her journey. Each member of the club also had written a message, all being tied in a neat package to be opened on the steamer.
Guests of the club were Mrs. Carrie Ford, Mrs. H. L. McLellan and Mrs. Joe Wagner. Members present were the Mesdames T. L. McFadden, Clarence McFadden, Percy Bradford, Fred Cline, Henry Tuffree, C. E. Normandy, James O'Brien, C. Palmer, Blattner, Berkenstock, A. Pierotti, Herbert Sullivan, J. E. Scott, Arthur Mann and the hostess, Ralph McFadden.

With yellow as the keynote color, the decorations at the Mrs. Clarence Spencer home were lovely yesterday, when she entertained the Orange-thorpe Country Club. When tallies were compared Mrs.L.M.Gardiner was proclaimed winner of the first prize, Mrs.L.Alexander second, and Mrs.Horace Skinner third. All the ladies were presented with handsome awards.

STATE CONFERENCE COMES HERE IN MAY
Word has just been received by Farm Advisor Wahlberg that the annual farm bureau traveling conference will come to Orange-co in the early part of May. Three directors from every farm bureau county in California will be in attendance. The purpose of the conference is to study the activities of the farm advisors and farm bureaus in the southern counties. Last year it was held in San Jonquin valley and the previous year in Sacramento valley.
The itinerary of the conference will take in all So. Calif. except Imperial.
"The Orange-co farm bureau will give the delegates a rousing reception," says Farm Advisor Wahlburg, "and a number of our field demonstrations and projects will be visited."
The delegates are all dirt farmers. They will bring back to their respective counties a full report of the activities seen on this trip. These conferences have been of exceptional value to the farmers of the state, because they have given the delegates a broader scope of the problems confronting California agriculture and ha s brought about a closer contact through the farm bureau organization.
