LOVELY PARTY IN COMPLIMENT. TO HOSTESS' MOTHER
COMPLIMENTING her mother, Mrs. S. H. Warner, who is visiting here, and whose home is in Chicago, Mrs. Sidney Prince entertained at cards yesterday afternoon in the Elks' club house.
At 1:30 the company was seated at the luncheon table, which was handsomely appointed and beautifully decorated. Ropes of asparagus ferns outlined the outer edge of the cloth, with clusters of yellow daffodils, lavender hyacinths and narcissus arranged at intervals, giving a colorful and fragrant effect. Five courses were served, the table being placed in a hollow square.
Tables were placed on the stage for the interesting game of five hundred, and after several rounds were played, scores gave Mrs. J. H. Garnett high number and Mrs. Theodore Roberts the other extreme, both of whom received pretty prizes. The stage was banked with ferns, making a very pretty setting, as well as a very convenient one.
Mrs. Prince's guest list included: the honoree, Mrs. Warner, the Mesdames J. H. Garnett, Grace Adkins, J. A. Clayes, Wm. Jackson, W. E. Duckworth, Edgar Hartung, Bernard Hart field, Ralph Maas, B. H. WEDDED IN SANTA ANA, COUPLE WILL MAKE HOME HERE
AVERY pretty and impressive but quiet wedding occurred late yesterday afternoon in Santa Ana, when Miss Louise Seddon of Balboa became the bride of Eugene Carter of this city, with the Rev. J. A. Stephenson of the Presbyterian church of Santa Ana, as the officiating clergyman, the single ring ceremony being used. Mrs. Carter looked most attractive in her brown tailleur, with hat, hose and pumps to correspond. The only guests at the wedding were the immediate family members of the bride.
Mrs. Carter is popular among the members of the young set of Balboa who will receive with gladness the news of her marriage. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. T. Seddon, the former a prominent business man of that place. Mrs. Carter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Carter of Anaheim, and is very well known and popular among his associates.
Gene, as he is best known, has been employed in Schneider's market for some time. He and his bride are receiving the congratulations from their friends. The young people are making their home in the Mann apartments.

LOIS REBEKAHS IN NICE MEETING
Lois Rebekah lodge passed one of the most interesting evenings, with an unusually large attendance, last evening, in spite of the many cases of illness. Many visitors were also present.
The lodge has recently donated a fine cow to the I. O. O. F. Orphans home in Gilroy, besides the many other nice things continually doing for the home.
Plans were made for the big district meeting to be held in Fullerton on March 15, when the state president of Rebekah assembly, Mrs. Fanny M. Clancy, will be present. Many of the local members are planning to attend the meeting.
Five candidates are waiting to be initiated into the lodge. After the business meeting cards and dancing were enjoyed, At a late hour most delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses, who were the Misses Minnis and Elizabeth Mang, their sister, Mrs. A. G. Neiswanger and Mrs. Frank Machleb. The color scheme was a combination of orange and green.

CLASS GROWS IN NUMBERS AND INTEREST
The Howe Men's Bible class will hold their regular meeting at the Bob White garage, at 328 West Center street, at 9:30 Sunday morning, and an unusually attractive program has been arranged for the occasion. It is urged that all members of the class be present on time; so that they will not miss anything. One of the most important things that will come up is the details that were worked out at the luncheon on Thursday evening for an active campaign for new members during the next few weeks. It is important that all members be there so that all may have an even start in this work.
There are several special stunts being arranged for the class meeting, and Mrs. Johnson will sing a solo "Mack" will be there, with his usual "Current Events," and Bert will have some words to say about the work that is expected from each. Loren Howe will give his usual interesting 20-minute discourse on the lesson for the day.
The Howe Men's Bible class continues to grow, and besides the hour spent each Sunday in the lesson period, the class is doing a good work among the needy and sick of this city, and they are always willing to go any time or place where their services can be of use for the benefit of humanity. All men of this city and vicinity are invited to attend this class, where they will hear the Bible lesson explained and plans for aiding the unfortunate of this community. Men, get in line and help this good work along. The class needs your help, and the chances are that the class can help you in some way. You are not promised any vaudeville will be made to feel at home during the session.
ORCHESTRA CONCERT HAS HIGH PRAISE
The first of a profitable five or six concerts, given by the Orange County Symphony Orchestra, was rendered last evening in the Fullerton high school auditorium and was a musical event of success and importance. Under the leadership of Harold Walberg, the program was given without a flaw, and augmented by solo numbers by Miss Ruth Dowling, was of highest artistic class.
Among the numbers which proved more popular with the large audience were Schubert's "Unfinished Symphony," the ever popular composition of Soussa's "Sabers and Spurs," Victor Hebert's "Oriento," "My Dearest Prayer" and last, but not least, the overture, "Merry Wives of Windsor." The orchestra was liberal with enchors and certainly won a place for itself in the hearts of music lovers.
Miss Dowling, whose ability is well known, sang three numbers, "By the Waters of Minnetonka," "The Banjo Song," and "Until the Sun Falls to Give Its Light."

SUB FRESHMEN ARE WELCOMED WITH HARD TIMES PARTY
One of the gay functions of the high school season was given last evening to the sub-freshmen by the members of the freshmen class. The pretty affair was held in the gym room and was most attractive with the decorations of gold and green, the class colors of the honorees and Japanese lanterns. In several words Earl Dahimann, president of the freshmen class welcomed the new students into the realms of school life; told them of the cooperation that is needed between the various classes of the school and asked their support. The sub-freshmen president, Miss Norma Brastad, responded on behalf of the class.
The girls were dressed in their aprons and the boys in overalls made the party successful from a hard time point. The freshmen orchestra composed of the Messrs. Robert Thompson, Fred Cleary, Jack Royalty, Lawrence Sweeney, Harold Wolle,
man, Frank Sackell, Dale Hennesley, Jonathan Straanke, Bill Seitz, and Jimmy Henderson who are promising young buds played during the evening for the pleasure of the guests. Various games were played until a pleasant evening was drawn to a close. Dainty refreshments were served by the committee and these were individual cup cakes with a white icing and gold inscription on the top bearing the minerals "1825", the year of their graduation, ice cream, and candy. Gold and white mists were served at the end of the refreshments.
Guests of the evening included Prof. and Mrs. J. A. Clayer, Mrs. Louis B.-Easton, Mrs. John Eden, Mrs. Abplanalp, the Missa Lacille Perry, Mary L. Ross, Margaret Hampton, Alice Bate, Alameda Hodgdon, Mr. J. L. Vander Veer and Mr. Junkin.
