PAVING WAY TO PARIS
Will Kerr, of Westminster, who attends Huntington Beach high school, has added another count to his growing list of victories when he won for his school the mile race in the medley relay in class 3 in the A. A. U. relay carnival at Redlands Saturday, with a 50-yard handicap.
Kerr expects to try for national honors at Chicago next April, having the fastest record in the state in high schools races at Berkeley last year, his time being 4 minutes and 30 seconds. If he keeps up his pace he stands a good chance of going to Paris in 1924, it is said.
FULLERTON WINNERS
Fullerton high school boys won the Orange-co championship in basketball yesterday afternoon at Fullerton, by a score of 34 to 25.
Fullerton second team was defeated 40 to 8.
ANAHEIM HI WINS
Beaten by the Anaheim Union Hi school 130-pound team 18-5, the Franklin, Los Angeles, High boys are wondering today how it all happened. The game was the first in a series of athletic nights planned by the Boys' League here. Twelve points of Roger Pohlman and good plays by Captain Ross and Crist helped pile up the scores. In the boxing matches George Easton and Waldo Wilburn, Jack Wood and Bennie Hill, Ed. Crispin and Lawrence Sweoney all drew. There was no decision in the bout between Homer Wallace and Arthur Mann.
BACKS AND MANN NOT YET DECIDED
F. A. Backs, Jr., who completes his term of four years as councilman, has not decided whether he will run again, but is inclined to think he will not, he said this afternoon.
Charles H. Mann, another councilman, said he didn't know whether he would be a candidate or not.
Councilman Frank N. Gibbs has filed nomination papers with City Clerk E. B. Merritt and will make the run.
The election this year is of particular interest because of the announced intention of the Civic League to back only candidates who pledge themselves to enforcement of the prohibition amendment and statutes, and because of the apparent determination of leading backers of the river protection district to vote for men who will help them in making their plans for the $40,000 levee a realization.

"MONEY MAKES MONEY"
We will submit in the following lines an opportunity for an unusual profit in the soundest and best non-speculative property in existence; a citrus grove.
First we wish to go on record with the statement that we have never advertised or designated any property handled by us as a "bargain", "snap", "sacrifice" etc. and furthermore we never will.
A client with an imperative need for quick money right now will, in consideration of a quick deal for cash, reduce the price on his thrifty citrus grove better than $1000.00 per acre, a total reduction of one-third less than his best former/selling price on the property. He has authorized this deal for a limited few days, a period after which if not sold, it will be withdrawn and no offer below his former selling figure will be considered.
This firm has carefully inspected this grove and can state definitely that it passed through the freeze without any apparent damage whatsoever. Its location is unexcelled and buildings and improvements are far above those of the average citrus property. An estimated crop value is placed at $5000.00.
Less than $25,000.00 cash will buy subject to a first mortgage, or good securities, first mortgages or part clear property will be considered.
Kindly do not approach us on this if you are unable to qualify approximately with the sales conditions outlined above. To any bona-fide, prospective purchaser we will furnish full, concise and definite details and will entertain your proposition and pass promptly on any bona-fide proposal. This is one of these deals that is clean cut, above-board but must be snappy. A real opportunity for someone with money who is able to appreciate values and profits and capable of making a quick decision.
