WOMAN BILLIARD CHAMP HERE WED. Miss Frances Anderson, world's greatest woman billiard player, will be at Dugas & Myre's billiard rooms Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. She will give exhibition games and fancy shooting, an entertainment for both ladies and gentlemen. Miss Anderson also will plan one of the best pool players in Orange county an exhibition game. Miss Anderson's record shows she has toured the world and has met and beaten some of the best pocket billiardists. She expects to leave Anaheim undefeated. The public invited. Police Riot With Textile Workers PAWTUCKET, R. I., Feb. 21. — One man was killed here today when police, on the order of Mayor Kenyon of Pawtucket, fired into a gathering of textile strikers outside the Jenckes cotton mill. LONG BEACH HOLDS AMUSEMENT JUBILEE What should prove to be one of the biggest amusement jubilees ever staged in Long Beach is scheduled to take place Wednesday eve, the night of Washington's Birthday, at Long Beach's amusement zone: the Silver Spray Pier and the Pike. The biggest feature of the evening will undoubtedly be the distribution of over $2,000.00 in merchandise and amusement tickets to all people who enter the pleasure zone. Beginning at 6:30 Tuesday evening every person who enters the Pike thru any of the entrances will receive a small envelope with tickets admitting them to various concessions on the Pike and pleasure pier. Merchants of the district complained that it would ruin business along the street. ONE KILLED, 7 HURT AS TRAIN HITS AUTO WICHITA, Kan., Feb. 21. One man was killed and seven persons injured, two seriously, when a Rock Island railroad passenger train demolished a motor bus at a streetcar crossing here today. Wendell P. Hicks, a passenger, was the man killed. N. A. Duncan, another passenger, is not expected to live. C. E. Mason, driver of the bus, is dangerously injured. Some of the passengers were hurled through the windows. OIL CLAIMS UPHELD SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 21. The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the title of the Standard Oil, Associated Oil, California-Midway and other oil companies to a quarter section of oil lands known as the McMurry location in the Midway fields, valued at more than $1,000,000. WOUNDED BY HIGHWAYMAN PASADENA, Feb. 21. Val Moore, 19, of Monrovia, received a wound over the left ear when he was attacked by a highwayman in Alta-dena while driving in his auto. He was treated at the Emergency Hospital. The regular United Missionary meeting of the Brea Christian church met at Mrs. J. F. Schweltzers on South Madronaive. Wednesday afternoon, a very interesting program was enjoyed. The topic for study was Tibet; the Bible study was presented by Mrs. Burquist; Mrs. Will Fanning gave some very interesting points on the topic “Tibet”. The people, their religion and the wonderful work being done there by our missionaries and also brot out many interesting points on the border of Tibet or as it is termed “The Roof of the World”, Mrs. J. E. Reynolds gave a very interesting review of Dr. Loftus’ trip to Batang in which he gave a very beautiful description of the grandeur of the mountains from Ya-Chau to Batang. Splendid music was rendered by Dr. Blanche Scott, Sulivan and Caulderwood which added much inspiration to the meeting, following a social hour of which tea and wafers were served by the hostess. Harold S-Hull of Los Angeles, who is preaching at the Christian church is meeting with success in the absence of Rev. Spleer, Mrs. Brawley of the G. & L. lease confessed her faith in Christ and will be baptised in the near future, Mr. Hull has very promising qualities for a future minister. Mrs. Harkey is suffering with la gripe, she is living on Birch-st. Rev. W. E. Spicer, is very much better, as soon as he is able he expects to visit old friends at San Dimas for a month or more to gain strength and health for his future work in Brea. Miller are the latest victims of the malady. Jack Fuquay has moved the old blacksmith shop and the real estate office to the back of his property, corner of Walker and Lincoln, preparatory to erecting a concrete building. Cary Cawthon and Alfred Rennie are assembling a hydraulic water well drilling outfit. This drilling rig when complete, will be the largest in this section. Cawthon and Rennie will be able to drill any dimension well up to 12-inch. J. Batls of Dalhart, Texas, is visiting with D. C. Balls. O. P. Hungard has completed the erection of two cottages in Belflower for rent purposes. There is a certain young married man of Moody, that has caused a certain P.
