SO. CALIF. GAS WILL PLAY ELKS SUNDAY
The fast So. Cal. Gas Co. team will finish the opposition for the Anaheim Elks in next Sunday’s pastime at the Anaheim high school field, Manager Billy Knott announced today.
“The team comes highly recommended, with three or four fast twirlers,” says Knott. “I am on the lookout for much stiffer opposition than we had last Sunday. In a few weeks the Class A teams in Los Angeles will be thru their schedules when we expect to bring them down.
Knott believes the convenient location and superior playing field of the high school diamond will prove an increasingly popular attraction each Sunday afternoon.

COMPLAINT ALLEGES ILLEGAL COMMISSION
Suit of Wester and Young, La Habra realty firm, against B. F. Pinson and H. Delmar Thurber, Fullerton realty firm, involving dispute over a $1000 commission, made its third appearance in superior court, in the form of a second amended complaint.

The purchasers of the property, which the plaintiffs claim to have found, were O. E. Hensley, E. N. Dunbar, John Lehmh, R. F. Franzt and L. J. Wester, the last named being one of the plaintiffs.

3000 DAMAGE CASE TRANSFERRED HERE
Brought to Orange-co on change of venue from Los Angeles county, $3000 damage suit was filed in superior court at Santa Ana by Marshal S. Borden, of Los Angeles, against John B. Allison.
Borden's suit is based upon an alleged violation of an agreement by Allison to lease to Borden a building at Newport Beach to be used as moving picture theater.
At the time the agreement was reached, Allison asserts, the building was under construction. Before its completion, however, Borden refused to carry out the agreement, Allison maintained.

DEFENSE SPEEDS
FATTY'S TESTIMONY
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 25. — The defense of Roacoe "Fatty" Arbuckle was being speeded up today. In the belief that the jury is already overtired with the long-drawn-out proceedings, the comedian's attorneys plan to present his case in as short a period as possible.
Several witnesses were scheduled to be called today to tell of occasions on which they observed Virginia Rappe, with responsibility for whose death Arbuckle is charged, tear her clothing in apparent paroxysms of pain.
Milton Carlson, who described himself as the originator of the theory—he preferred the term fact—that fingerprints may be forged, was on the stand to controvert the state's fingerprint evidence as court opened.
He testified that he found no pronounced peculiarities in the fingerprint impressions on the door of room 1219 of the hotel suit.
