LODGES CLUBS CHURCHES
CATHOLIC YOUNG PEOPLE IN HARD TIMES PARTY
THE K. of C. HALL was crowded last evening with members of the Catholic church of Anaheim and Fullerton, who gathered there for a business and social meeting. The president opened the meeting and after several affairs of importance were discussed, a motion was made for the society to go to Mr. Baldy on Sunday after 7:30 mass. This motion was accepted with eagerness and committees were appointed to look after the affair. After the meeting a short program was given. Wm. Bertles recited several clever readings in a Jewish dialect. A title composed of Albert Stichten, Ray Lazerrori and Wm. Bertles accompanied by Miss Hazel Lee Royant on the piano, rendered several selections. Another much liked number on the program was the Spanish dance by Miss Mary Estrada, with her sister, Miss Constance, as piano accompanist.
As the affair last evening was a hard time affair, each person came attired in a costume according to his liking. The grand match was started and the more grotesque of the group were picked out. The last straw, to pick out the most comically dressed, was no easy job for the judges to decide which was to be honored with the prize. After careful study, Miss Alexia Gawald was elected as the funniest of the more funny and was given a magnificent reading lamp. Dancing was then started and the young folks danced to the times of gay music. During the evening refreshments were served.

Scores were awarded to Mrs. McLelland, First; Mrs. Normandy, second; Mrs. Bertha Lacy consolation, and the honoree received the guest prize.
Pretty cut flowers were used to beautify the rooms and make them more attractive. After the games a most delicious two-course luncheon was served from the pretty appointed dining table. Mrs. Janss was assisted with the entertaining by her daughter, Miss Frieda.
