PAIGE WILL MAKE JEWETT SIX AUTO With the incorporation of Jewett Motors, a new Michigan corporation, comes word that a new Detroit-made automobile will shortly be on the market. The new car will be named the Jewett, bearing the name of Mr. Henry M. Jewett, President of the Paige-Detroit Motor Car Company. The new Jewett car was designed by the engineering staff of the Paige-Detroit Motor Car Company, which has been quietly working for many months to perfect the type of light, low-priced automobile which most exactly suits present day needs. The Jewett will be manufactured by the Paige organization. Paige dealers will handle the Jewett in addition to the present Paige line. The present Paige models, both 6-66 and 6-44, which have proved so successful, will be continued. The Jewett—a light car at a low price—instead of interfering with the Paige will round out a really complete line that offers maximum sales possibilities under present conditions. With known financial strength and an established manufacturing and selling organization, the Jewett springs into being fully grown, with immediate possibilities for volume business. It is anticipated that upwards of 20,000 Jewets can be produced and marketed during 1922, so that the new enterprise promises to be a distinct factor in the improvement of business conditions in Detroit. The Jewett will be a six-cylinder automobile of light weight. While its price has not yet been announced, it will place the new car in the popular priced field. "Those French war brides who begged Marechal Foch to take them home were just simply homesick, because with the atmosphere so full of enthusiasm for France their patriotism developed into an uncontrollable longing." "For myself," she added, "I have been made very happy here. Last summer I went home, but I was not reluctant to return to continue my studies in America. The greatest difficulty with those poor homesick brides, I think, is that they probably do not speak English, and of course they feel isolated." Then with a little laugh: "And, you know, in France we have a general idea that America is the land of riches—it is a sort of paradise country, where all is prosperity and pleasure.
