Swing, congressman from this district, and the lecture of Harry F. Atwood, noted preacher of Americanism, who pointed out the dangers that now confront the civil government of the U. S. in meeting the onslaught of Bolshevism. It was the regular meeting of the Fullerton B. of T. A committee waited on Congressman Swing on his arrival in Fullerton last evening relative to obtaining a new federal building for Fullerton, and Mr. Swing stated that he would do everything possible to obtain it. In his address before the board Swing dwelt on the progress of the tariff bill covering the citrus fruits industry of So. Cal., especially the lemons. He also told of the progress of the Colorado river project. Atwood's entire lecture was devoted to the constitution of the U. S., and the foes which are undermining it. He urged a return to the republic in deed and in truth, and to put God back into American history as the safest way to head off Bolshevism. He lauded patriotism to the skies and moaned that there is not more of it, but expressed his conviction that the principles of the American government will triumph in the end. The regular business meeting was held, and the various committee reports were received. A committee was appointed to nominate officers for the ensuing year. He said that it would pay for itself many times over, and would be the biggest thing that ever happened for the country, provision of power and water for the irrigation of much additional land. That these new fangled ideas of democracy and these various "isms" should be thrown aside and that the constitution of the U.S. should be accepted as it is written was the declaration of Mr. Atwood. He said that these very things are what the constitution was written to avoid, and that as long as we abide by the constitution we won't get into trouble, but when we don't we will.
