CENTER-ARIZONA GRID TICKETS HERE
Representatives of the San Diego Athletic club visited Anaheim yesterday, in response to a suggestion that football tickets for the game, Dec. 26, between Centre College and Univ. of Ariz., be placed on sale here, for the convenience of fans wishing to see that classic gridiron struggle.
Hexing Brothers were able to get a few of these tickets, also a plot of the grounds, showing their location. A very limited supply was secured for local sale. The prices are $1.65, $2.20, $3.30, $4.40 and $5.50. The game next Monday is called for 2:15, and parties desiring to motor down should get an early start.
"ENCHANTMENT" AT CALIFORNIA TUES.
DULL would he be of soul, indeed, who could direct "Enchantment," Marion Davies' new Paramount-Cosmopolitan picture, which comes to the California theatre tomorrow, without once in a while feeling that dreamy languor, which the name of the film suggests. This is what may have happened to Director Robert G. Vignola when he fled across the set during the filming of "Enchantment" carrying with him a distinct aroma of exotic French perfume.
It was in one of the opening scenes—and it WAS enchanting. A smart boudoir, with all the trappings of art and luxury, formed the setting for Mr. Vignola's amusing lapse. In the room was a perfume cabinet — "all the perfumes of Araby." The director merely wanted to snatch a faint
WRESTLING MATCH HELD UP BY RAIN
The wrestling match between Al Sparkes and Roy Mabee, scheduled for tomorrow night at the Anaheim Athletic Club's Arena, has been called off, according to the announcement of Athletic Manager Billy Darnley late this afternoon. Due to the heavy rain and wind and the failure of the awning company, which has the contract for the new canvas roof, to install it in time, it has been decided to cancel the match until a later date, possibly New Year's week. Both men will keep themselves in good condition and the same arrangements as before will govern the match. It is hoped that the postponement will not detract any enthusiasm from the match but rather help it.
WEATHER PREVENTS SUNDAY BALL GAME
Rain yesterday prevented the baseball game between Anaheim Slks and the Alexander Giants.
Manager Billy Knott believed today the game would be played next Sunday, between the two teams, although the wishes of players as to celebration of Christmas may necessitate other plans. Captain Buster Calan has an engagement for Christmas dinner at Pomona. Manager Knott has a recruit for the catching position in Stephens, employed by the So. Cal. Edison Co., at Santa Ana, who caught in the Northwest league last season.

It was in one of the opening scenes—and it WAS enchanting. A smart boudoir, with all the trappings of art and luxury, formed the setting for Mr. Vignola's amusing lapse. In the room was a perfume cabinet — "all the perfumes of Araby." The director merely wanted to snatch a faint whiff of what looked to him the most interesting in the rich store. He pressed a rubber tube on one of the long bottles—ever so slightly and tingly.
Suddenly—whiff—for a moment he thought it was a home brew. He was deluged. His hair was soaked with perfume. His clothes reeked with it. He staggered for a moment and then his merry smile came back. "We must have realism," he laughed, "I AM ENCHANTED!"
MOTORCYCLE CLUB BANQUETS TUESDAY
Orange County Motorcycle club members will hold their annual get-to-gether and banquet at the Cherry Blossom in Santa Ana at 8 o'clock on Tuesday evening.
Good fellowship will prevail at the dinner and social time which will follow, according to C. M. Shook. A course dinner will be served, after which special entertainment will be provided, T. C. Butler, coast representative of the Indian Motorcycle company, will be present and will address the club members.
Verne Guthrie, Pacific coast representative of the Harley-Davidson Co. and Tennant Lee, occupying the same position with the Excelsior and Henderson companies, will also attend and deliver short talks.
J. J. O'Connor, editor of the Pacific Motorcycle and Bicycle magazine, devoted to the interests of cyclists in the West, will be the guest of the Orange county club, and will speak.
REFUSAL TO REDUCE RATES NOT FAVORED
Secretary R. D. Flaherty, of the Orange county farm bureau; Dean W. Johnson and C. E. Utt, comprising the bureau committee named to take up with the Orange County Outo Trades Ass'n the matter of securing for farmers reduced rates on tractor repairs, today began conferring with auto tradesmen hot members of the trades association, following the action of the farm bureau directors here in terming "insufficient" the reason that the auto trades body gave for refusal to reduce the rates.
The asserted refusal of the auto trades organization was contained in a letter presented to the directors.
Dalrymmen members of the bureau have agreed to purchase grain wholesale John Osterman of the grain Sunday, between the two teams, although the wishes of players as to celebration of Christmas may necessitate other plans. Captain Buster Callan has an engagement for Christmas dinner at Pomona. Manager Knott has a recruit for the catching position in Stephens, employed by the So. Cal. Edison Co., at Santa Ana, who caught in the Northwest league last season.
POLICE CHIEF IS DEFENSE WITNESS
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19. — Two witnesses who appeared for the prosecution were summoned to the courtroom today by Defense Attorney Schenck to give important testimony favorable to Arthur C. Burch, on trial for the murder of J. Belton Kennedy.
The two witnesses were Henry Liefer, whose home is next door to the cabin where Kennedy was killed in Beverly Glen, and George Deering, who took Mrs. Madalynne Obenchain, Burch's co-defendant, to the Beverly Hills police station after the slaying.
Liefer was expected to give testimony attacking the story of Mrs. Elizabeth Besenty, who claimed to be an eyewitness to the murder, and Deering was expected to repeat Mrs. Obenchain's first statement after the shooting.
Mrs. Obenchain's story that Kennedy was killed by "two roughly-dressed men," a story which was deliberately withheld by the prosecution for an unstated reason, will also be told by Police Chief Charles Blair of Beverly Hills, who will appear as a defense witness.
Mrs. Obenchain made a detailed statement to Chief Blair and it had been expected that the prosecution would produce it and attempt to disprove it.
District Attorney Woolwine, however, closed the prosecution's case without producing Mrs. Obenchain's statement, and Defense Attorney Schenck immediately subpoenaed Police Chief Blair. The motorcycle officer, Frank Leibert, who was the first officer to reach the scene of the murder, will also be a defense witness.

20 acres (1744 trees) which uniquely stands unchallenged as the best orange grove in this section. A grove with a record, a grove with a future. There is not one weak feature attached to this offering. Upon inspection one becomes impressed with the size of the trees, their vigor, health and thrifty condition. The soil is of the finest, setting indicates that it will be one of the heaviest producing 20 acres in Orange-co. This is a grove which has received not only the beat of care, but all work has been done by the owners themselves. Its location is ideal, situated in city limits, 3 blocks from the new postoffice, with frontage on 3 streets. The only reason this splendid grove is on the market is due to one of the owners being desirous of returning east. It is offered for sale at a ridiculously low figure, and we are prepared to produce figures which will show an income of 22 per cent.
This is your one big opportunity to purchase a grove which is now increasing in value. Don't wait until the fruit colors up. Don't wait until the owners change their minds but buy now.
5 acres of 5-year-old Valencias that would do your heart good to see. The trees have an exceptionally heavy setting for next year, with every indication of sizing up well. Soil conditions fine. This grove is all piped. These is a nice home, all modern, with garage, which makes this proposition exceptionally attractive. We doubt if there is another 5 acres which can compare with this. Anyone purchasing this beautiful grove will feel greatly satisfied especially when the fruit colors up. Better look into this before it is too late.
10 acres 8-year-old Valencias, setting and soil A-L. Grove all piped. This grove can be purchased at your own figure.
5 acres 2-year-old Valencias, all piped. Soll exceptionally good. Priced at $1,600 per acre.
