The matter of observing Monday, Dec. 26th, as the Christmas holiday by merchants will be brot up at the meeting of the Fullerton B. of T. next Wednesday evening, and it is expected to be passed upon favorably, it was announced today at the office of W. N. Irwin, secretary. The feature of the meeting next week will be an address by Congressman Phil Swing on tariff, and other questions.
Similar actions regarding Christmas were taken by the Anaheim and Santa Ana C. of C.'s.
HEAVY CHRISTMAS MAILS
Christmas mailing is going on at quite a rapid rate at the Fullerton post office. The volume is a little larger than last year, although it has not yet become necessary to put on extra help so this may become necessary next week, it is said.
WIND UP TOMATO SEASON
The Northern Orange-co Produce Growers' Ass'n this week finally wound up their tomato season, sending the last in mixed shipments to Los Angeles. The crop this year was good, but damage was done by the early frost which killed the tomatoes except in certain districts, not, however, until a large number had been gathered. The market this year was much better than on any former season, growing higher as the season near to a close, and the tomatoes became fewer in volume.
Three cars of navels were shipped and will probably last during the remainder of the winter, altho at present the association is making few shipments.

ANAHEIM LAUNDRY BEATS McKENZIES
An old-time crowd was on hand last night at the Dugas & Myre bowling alleys. There was witnessed some classy bowling when Anaheim Laundry won three straight from the fast McKenzie team in the So. Cal Major Bowling league, and some real comedy when the office bunch of the Studebaker agency trimmed the mechanics force from the same place, dubbed the Grease Hounds, in three straight falls.
The Laundry team won the second game by a margin of three pins. There were no such close margins in the Studebaker games.

FAST BOUTS WITH SPARKES-MABEE GO
Two snappy boxing bouts preceded the big wrestling match between Al Sparkes and Roy Mabee next Tuesday evening at the Anaheim Athletic club. Athletic Manager Billy Darnley has signed up Art Espinosa, the clever 135-pound-or who recently beat Jimmy Lloyd in four rounds at the local club, to mix with Elmer Foley, a Buena Park scraper with a reputation for his hitting and slugging proclivities.
Espinosa is a fast two-handed boxer and besides carries a good punch in either mitt. If Foley lives up to his rep, he should give the local lad a stiff argument.
But what is expected to cause the fans to sit up and take notice is the contest between those two good, fast youngsters—Bennie Heller and Kid Louie. This match is creating an unusual amount of interest and promises to be a "hum-dinger" from the word go. Both lads are out to win and in as decisive fashion as is possible.
In tackling Heller, Louie is meeting just about the best boy he has been called upon to box. Bennie is a slugging fool and every fan here-abouts knows what a wicked wallop he possesses for one of his weight.
Heller has a left hook that is a jim dandy and it generally means

An old-time rootin,' tootin' ball game is offered local pastime fans Sunday afternoon at Commonwealth Park, Fullerton, when Anaheim Elks take on the fast Alexander Giants, champ colored team of Los Angeles. This is the gang of colored stars which put up such a classy game of ball just before the Elks went north to annex the state championship.
Harry Hughes, veteran moundman, will start the game, promises Manager Billy Knott, and he will have practically the entire remaining members of the famous winning combination behind him.
The game will be called promptly at 2:30 so that it will be finished before dark.
McCLAIN ABLE TO BE UP
Manager Billy Knott of the Anaheim Elks' baseball team visited "Curly" McClain, veteran catcher, in Los Angeles yesterday. McClain is able to be up again after being bedfast for seven weeks with an attack of Bright's disease whic, it is believed, has been checked.

Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McCann and Mrs. Nellie Wagner will go to Pasadena tomorrow were they will be guests of H. Dickel.
He has the heart and fighting instinct that goes for success and Kid Louie will know that he is up against the real thing when he faces Bennie. tHowever, the Placentia youngster is coming along at a rapid pace of late and many fans hereabouts give the Kid an even break anyway with the demon slugger from Perris. Louie is fast and clever and socks hard with that right of his. At any rate, Bennie will have plenty of respect for Louie's right just as Louie will have of Bennie's left hook. It is predicted that this bout will set the fans wild with excitement for they have been looking forward to a meeting between the two for some time.
Heller is ready and fit. For weeks he has been after Louie's scalp but Louie has been playing safe, waiting until he gained a little more experience and confidence in himself before tackling tough little Bennie Heller. It looks like a rattling good battle.
The advance sale of tickets opened this morning and according to the demand, the prospects look exceedingly good for a capacity house. Both Sparkes and Mabee are already in the pink and just rarin' to go. Mabee is so cock-sure of winning that he has already asked for a date with Papa Bool. On the other hand, Sparkes has his heart set on winning, strong as he is after a return match will Bull. Whichever way it goes, fandom in this vicinity is promised a hard-fought grueling affair with many thrills attached.
