CHOIR CHRISTMAS PARTY

A present for every guest hung upon the tree, and merry was the hour which followed distributing the gifts, as almost all of them were bursesque presents. Pop corn and rosy checked apples were served for refreshment.
The guests greatly enjoyed the vocal numbers given by Mr. Herman Payner, who recently came to reside in Anaheim. He will also appear on the program at church services Sunday.
LAST MEETING OF THE YEAR
White Temple Women's Foreign Missionary society held the last meeting of the year yesterday, and the occasion was especially interesting. Mrs. Goodale reviewed the first two chapters of the study book, "The Kingdom and the Nations," in her characteristically interesting way, and gave excerpts from peace conference activities among the women from foreign countries who are attending. Among them was a Japanese woman, ninety years of age, who is there to represent Japanese womankind.
Mrs. Abernathy sang a solo very sweetly, and the Mystery box was then conducted by Mrs. E. O. Mathias. This is always an interesting part of the program and yesterday was no exception. Questions are dropped in the box to be answered and discussed.
MAKE BIG STRIDES IN BUREAU DRIVE
Canvassing teams in the farm bureau membership drive were today reporting great progress, and Secretary-manager R. D. Flaherty, in charge of the campaign, expressed confidence in the successful outcome of the effort.
As a result of the efforts of August Lemke, of Olive, who has been soliciting in the Santa Ana canyon, a membership of 28 has been secured. Last year only two men in that section were farm bureau members. Lemke expects to obtain at least seven more members before he concludes his labors. Upon his success will depend the formation of a farm center there.
Cypress had 51 last year, and up to the present has fifty-five. Teams are still at work there.
Teams in Fullerton, La Habra, Buena Park, Placentia, Yorba Linda and Tustin have made no reports.
The drive for members at Anaheim and West Orange will take place on North Hiett street, giving the owners of the La Habra park square an opportunity to lay their water mains, the work to be begun at once.
This is the sub-division in which The Women's club is interested, and a number of sales are pending.
