Saturday, December 3, 1921 La Habra Items LA HABRA, Dec. 5.—(Spl.) The farm bureau held their regular meeting at the school house Thursday evening. After the business meeting a memorial tribute was paid to the late president Edward W. Hibbs, who met with a tragic death since the last meeting in Nov. W.L.Yori, Mr. Stubbs and M.J.Pickering, gave a splendid tribute to the deceased. Resolutions were drafted and ordered spread on the minutes and a copy sent to the bereaved family. Miss Margaret 7. Livingston county librarian, Lloyd Young of Pomona of Pomona, and Mr. Faherty of Santa Ana were the speakers. A committee was appointed for the membership drive to take place next month. Fifteen dollars and twenty-five cents was donated by the members toward the library fund. Mrs. T.D.Linsey is entertaining her brother A. Stanford of Texas. Mr. Stanford surprised his sister Friday evening, he will remain here for a few weeks visit with his family relatives. Saturday a visit was paid the mother who lives with a daughter in Pomona. Mr. Stanford is delighted with La Lahabra and will locate here. The Bazaar of the ladies of the Methodist church was a decided financial success. There were over 200 served at the delicious chicken dinner and the booths of fancy work, candy and domestic had a surplus of buyers. The affair netted the Ladies Aid and the Berean class in the neighborhood of $200. Mrs.M.A.Campbell and daughter have sold out to Mr. and Mrs. George Schlaghauff, of Brea. Possession will be given the 15th. Mrs.Campbell and Mrs.Waits will take a much needed rest. The Len Hart's were in town Friday looking after the business block that is being erected on their property on Central-ave. This has been rented to an Anaheim men for a toyery shop. Mr.T.D.Linsey is entertaining her brother from Texas, Mr. Stanford. Mr. Stanford is delighted with this section and will locate here. Realty deals are being made rapidly in this town, the firm of Wester & Olinda News Items OLINDA LEASE, Dec. 5.—(Spl.) The regular December meeting of the Women's Ass'n in Olinda will be held next Thursday afternoon Dec. 8 at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs.W.J.Travers. The speaker of the afternoon will be Mrs.J.E.Donaldson, a former resident of Fullerton who has recently completed a trip around the world. She will tell of some of her experiences. The special features of the afternoon will be in celebration of the Christmas season. There will be Christmas carols by younger girls and a ladies quartette. The entertainment committee has planned a unique Christmas surprise. The chairmen of committees for this meeting are, program, Mrs.Robert Emory; entertainment, Mrs.Chester Warrington; refreshment, Mrs.Fred Bowe; hospitality, Mrs.Roy Vanatta and special activities, Mrs.Charles Robb. Mrs.W.J.Travers and family are entertaining Mrs.J.E.Donaldson for a week. Mrs.Donaldson has just returned from the oriental countries nd is now visiting friends in Fullerton and surrounding places. She was formally of Fullerton being on the F.U.H.S.Faculty. Mr.Virgil Clapp who was very seriously injured while at work Wednesday is reported to be getting along as well as can be expected. Unless complications set in it is believed he will recover. Mr.Mrs.W.J.Travers celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary at the home of Mrs.Travers' mother Mrs.Jones of Hollywood, Wednesday evening. Mr.Mrs.Mac Roberts who are now occupying house No.23 are moving in house No.10, recently vacated by C.C.Dyman and family. H.P.Tobin and to San Diego and arrived Saturday visit with her brothel and family, and wresides in Los Angeles. Walter Knox went Saturday where her pleasure trip. Mr.and Mrs.W and Mr.and Mrs.B dinner guests yester Mrs.George Tedrick are in Los Angelesness. Mrs.E.L.Hunter her home with an at W.J.Hoss went Saturday. Five acres of the Knupp ranch facing on Central has been sold to Janeway of Whittier this comprises the old ranch location and has a good farm house on the acreage, the price for this was $20000. Several lots have ben sold in the Knupp subdivision, and the McPherson tract No. 27 these were handled by Launer & Sutton. Price & Bishop report the sale of 90 by 85 feet on Hiett-st to Chas. Newson from L. Lindeur. A corner on Hiett and First of the R. W. George tract to G. E. Parsons, and several home sites have been sold in the Garretson tract. These lots range from $875 to $1,500... Mrs. George Hilbert, has secured a location on Wallace-st and will erect a bungalow court, the plans are being prepared and the building will be started at once. The Central Labor Council will hold its regular semi-monthly meeting tonight at the Labor Temple on No.-Los Angeles-st. City Manager O. E. Steward was among those who went to Los Angeles yesterday for a glimpse of Marshal Foch. While there was a big demonstration for the French war hero, Steward says there were not the crowds he expected. Rev. and Mrs. C. H. M. Sutherland of Santa Monica were Anaheim visitors yesterday. Mrs. R. Shearme of Santa Ana was the guest of her mother, Mrs. Guthrie on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Fallis of Buena Park were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Ruick yesterday. In the evening they attended the show at the California. Little Albert Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Clark is ill at the family home on E. Broadway. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Dickenson entertained Mr., and Mrs. J. A. Baker yesterday. Mrs. L. W. Baggott spent yesterday in Long Beach. Mrs. A. Leasa is spending several days with friends in Los Angeles. Trudeau family...She will leave for her home in Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. V. B. Bruce, spent last evening with Mrs. Emma Losey and son Thomas. Mrs. Grace Koch Garrison joined a party of friends yesterday and motored thru Seal Beach, Long Beach, Redondo and other resorts. Miss Esther Pember has accepted a temporary position as society editor for the Daily Herald in the absence of Mrs. James Sutherland (Carrie Lou Evans) whose marriage occurred on Sunday afternoon and who is now enjoying their honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Show, Warren Hodges accompanied by his mother, sister and brother, Mrs. H. A.
