ANOTHER FAST CARD AT ARENA FRIDAY
Jack Iman, the hardhitting local husky, will again figure in the weekly boxing show of the Anaheim Athletic club doings Friday. Athletic Manager Billy Darnley has selected, he believes, another rough gent in the person of Hack Thomas, a Salinas boy, to give him battle. Thomas comes down from the northern city with quite a reputation as a willing two-handed performer, and they say, he packs an ungodly wallop.
Iman is going strong now and it is going to take a good boy to beat him. In his setto with Mackey last Friday he exhibited a world of speed and cleverness that was a surprise to even his most ardent supporters. After being shaded in the first and second rounds, he came back strong in the third, and like a house afire, in the fourth, whipping his man almost to a standstill, thereby earning for himself a draw in which many that he was entitled to the verdict.
If Thomas lives up to his advance notices, then, our Jack is in for another warm argument. The big boy is keeping himself fit by daily workouts and by Friday will be able to step at his usual fast pace.
Manager Billy Darnley is so certain of Johnny Golindo and Kid Rubio putting up one of those sensational battles that occasionally make their appearance on the card that he has signed these two good boys up for the semiwindup. Rubio is a cousin of Ad. Rubidoux, the ban-tamweight, who is the big noise around Los Angeles at present. Like his cousin, he is a demon in the ring for motion, and Johnny will have to step some to hold himself even. Golindo is the younger brother of the "Fighting Family" of that name. He has done some splendid work in the ring, having met and defeated some of the best boys of his weight on the Anaheim Elk baseball team will get into action a fling at the pastime in the winter season next Sunday at Commonwealth park, Fullerton. The opposition will be provided with the reorganized baseball team of Long Beach Elks.
The Anaheim Elks' management, headed by Billy Knott, believes several games can be arranged with other Elk teams. Santa Monica, Pomona and other lodges have expressed a desire to meet the Anaheim champions. Like Anaheim, they realize that if a fast team is to keep together for next summer's league race games must be played during the winter.
The Anaheim lineup will be much the same as played thru to the state cup at the annual convention last month.
CHAFFEE AND S. A. MEET AT FULLERTON
The semi-final football game between Santa Ana and Chaffee union high schools will be played at Fullerton next Thursday.
This was decided at Santa Ana high school yesterday afternoon when Principal Hill of the Ontario school announced that the Chaffee student body protested the plan, agreed upon last Friday evening, that Chaffee and Santa Ana play their game in Santa Ana.
The Chaffee folk were determined that the contest be staged on a neutral gridiron, Principal Hill stated. Accordingly he and Principal Hammond of the local school reached an agreement that the game be played at Fullerton.
Rubio putting up one of those sensational battles that occasionally make their appearance on the card that he has signed these two good boys up for the semiwindup. Rubio is a cousin of Ad. Rubidoux., the ban-tamweight, who is the big noise around Los Angeles at present. Like his cousin, he is a demon in the ring for motion, and Johnny will have to step some to hold himself even. Golindo is the younger brother of the "Righting Family" of that name. He has done some splendid work in the ring, having met and defeated some of the best boys of his weight on the coast. This gives every promise of being a regular go from start to finish. They meet at 33 pounds.
Three snappy prelims have also been lined up between willing mixers. Our old friend Jimmy Lloyd is making a comeback after an absence of several weeks. He draws a good boy in Arthur Espinoza, who, it will be remembered, put up a whale of a scrap against Jack Hale of Garden Grove, recently out at the old Fistic Farm. He is a clever performer and Jimmy will have to keep moving to put anything over on him.
Ernle Farren, the fast 118 pounder from Seattle, who gave Heller such a hard time of it at last week's show, is down on the bill with Teddy Cruz, from Long Beach, who is said to be a nifty workman in the ring.
The curtain raiser should be a 'Humdinger' from start to finish and promises to give the fans hereabouts the greatest kick they have had in some time. The young huskies from our fair city who have been issuing this was decided at Santa Ana high school yesterday afternoon when Principal Hill of the Ontario school announced that the Chaffee student body protested the plan, agreed upon last Friday evening, that Chaffee and Santa Ana play their game in Santa Ana.
The Chaffee folk were determined that the contest be staged on a neutral gridiron, Principal Hill stated. Accordingly he and Principal Hammond of the local school reached an agreement that the game be played at Fullerton.
DISCUSS EARLY DAY PRACTICE
Health conditions and the work of physicians during the early days of Orange-co was the subject of a paper read last night by Dr. C. D. Ball at a meeting of the Orange-co Historical society. S. M. Davis, secretary of the society contributed a paper on "Hopi Indians."
defiles at each other for weeks past, have at last had their wish gratified and will settle once and for all their claims as to just who is the best man.
Two of Anaheim's finest, Officers Moody and Choate, are standing sponsors for these two gladiators and have signified their intention of enlarging out in big league style with the winner. Moody believes he has a world beater in Oyster Loaf Joe., who claims the championship of the Pearl Divers Union of Orange county, while his good friend Tex says that while his battler holds no championship at present, he can lick a ring full of champions.

CITY BRIEFES
CYPRESS, Nov. 29. (Spl.) The school bond election held Nov. 26th, and which resulted in the carrying of the bonds 44 to 19, was the cause of more interest and enthusiasm than any other school election ever attained in the district. To best of our knowledge only one registered voter failed to vote and he was held in Los Angeles on business til the polls were closed. The trustees of the district were very pleased to have the people sanction their endeavors. It has been much work and time spent on the part of the trustees, in circulating petitions, visiting school buildings for plans and to lay the plans before the architects. Dissenting voters admired the plans for the new building. Their objections were not bared on the underability of the building but in the tax raise necessary. Some were of the opinion that the price of materials would decrease, but the heavy eax rate was the big Bugo-boo. The building is assured and the whole district is ready to aid in its construction.
Mr. A. S. Feagan who recently moved to Los Angeles to be near his physician was reported last Friday to be much weaker and his condition is very serious.
Realtor Carpenter is the busy man these days. He reports the sale of a two acre lot of the Kester tract to W. E. Lanier of Orange. Mr. Lanier has contracted to have a water well drilled and will erect a five-room dwelling and buildings for a small poultry ranch.
Carpenter reports another sale of a like lot of land to Win. Huhn who will also erect a residence and pool.

FOR SALE
20 acres (1744 trees) which unquestionably stands unchallenged as the best orange grove in this section. A grove with a record, a grove with a future. There is not one weak feature attached to this offering. Upon inspection one becomes impressed with the size of the trees, their vigor, health and thrifty condition. The soil is of the finest setting indicates that it will be one of the heaviest producing 20 acres in Orange-co. This is a grove which has received not only the best of care, but all work has been done by the owners themselves. Its location is ideal, situated in city limits; 3 blocks from the new postoffice, with frontage on 3 streets. The only reason this splendid grove is on the market is due to one of the owners being desirous of returning east. It is offered for sale at a ridiculously low figure, and we are prepared to produce figures which will show an income of $22 per cent. This is your one big opportunity to purchase a grove which is now increasing in value. Don't wait until the fruit colors up. Don't wait until the owners change their minds but buy now.
5 acres of 5-year-old Valencias that would do your heart good to see. The trees have an exceptionally heavy setting for next year, with every indication of sizing up well. Soil conditions fine. This grove is all piped. There is a nice home, all modern, with garage, which makes this proposition exceptionally attractive. We doubt if there is another $5 acres which can compare with this. Anyone purchasing this beautiful grove will feel greatly satisfied especially when the fruit colors up. Better look into this before it is too late.

Don Grindley has turned Ford doctor. He has a very complicated case in his own fillyvern. At present there are three lungs missing, the heart action is very weak, and a few other minor parts are out of killer, but Dr. Don has hopes of reviving the wreck.
