Friday, November 25, 1921 SPORTING EVENTS GOOD PROGRAM TO REOPEN BOXING A rattling good program will start the boxing shows off once more when the Anaheim Athletic club puts on the weekly card tonight at the new arena on No. Los Angeles-st and State Highway. Athletic Manager Billy Darnley will present a bill of snappy bouts that give every promise of being chuck full of action. There will be a double main event, Jack Iman, the local hard-hitting husky, will meet a tough nut in Dan Mackey, of Los Angeles, a boy who will keep Iman stepping fast all the time. Young Dudley, local colored crack 138-pounder, also is on the bill, meeting Willie Hunt, of Los Angeles. For the rest of the program, some clever bouts are on deck. Bennie Heller tackles a good little boy in Ernie Farren of Los Angeles. Young Burton moxes with Joe Layman and Kid Loule will try conclusions with the Zulu Kid while Tommy Reyes of Fullerton and Young Frankie of Placentia raise the curtain at 8:30 o'clock. Billy Darnley will referee all bouts. There has been a brisk advance sale of seats for the occasion and a good house is being looked forward to. FULLERTON JUNIOR COLLEGE WINNER Altho Chaffey Junior College held Fullerton Junior College to 477 to 71 on the Ontario field yesterday, the championship title for the Junior College League goes to the Orange-co school. The game leaves Chaffey with one and a half games lost, while Fullerton has lost only half a game. Had Chaffey won the two schools would have been tied for position in the league, but Chaffey would have held the championship by virtue of the Junior College League ruling which gives it to the college. S. A. BEATS SANTA MONICA 13 TO 0 Santa Monica's hopes for another So Calif.-grid title passed quietly away at Bovard Field yesterday afternoon when Santa Ana's pigskin pursuers hopped on the Samohi squad, 13 to 0. The game was devoid of thrills. Santa Ana having the ball in her opponent's territory for practically the whole game, and lacked only a little snap to run up a husky total. Quarteback Wilcox was the only back on the Santa Ana squad who didn't have lead feet, his frequent runs and passes keeping the spectators from slumbering. He passed to Williams for the initial tally of the game in the first blay of the second quarter, and scored the second touchdown on a line buck after completing a forward pass for a 30-yard gain. As a result of yesterday's victory, Santa Ana will meet Chaffey Union high, winners of the Citrus Belt League, Dec. 3. Had Chaffey won the two schools would have been tied for position in the league, but Chaffey would have held the championship by virtue of the Júnior College League ruling which gives it to the school which has defeated the other. There was some talk of protesting the game on the ground that one of Fullerton's star players has been in the school only two weeks and is, therefore, not eligible to play, but no decision has been reached in this matter. Patton, Chaffey's fullback, was responsible for the Tiger's touchdown in the second quarter. McLean converted for Chaffey and the score stood 7 to 8 at the end of the first half. Fullerton made its touchdown in the third quarter on a series of passes, Hawkins converted and the score was tied, 7 to 7. MAKES VANITY BOX FROM PET 'GATOR Until the time this item was published, the secrets disclosed herein were locked in the heart of Constance Talmadge and known only to those who were very close to her. But in permitting these facts to be known to The world, the pretty Constance Talmadge whose latest picture, "Wedding Bells," released as a First National attraction, and which will be shown at the California Theatre, commencing today, will at least have the satisfaction of knowing that Naidie was immortalized. As a matter of fact, while Constance Talmadge was making "Wedding Bells" in Florida, she fell in love with "Naidie." Naidie isn't a dog. Nor is it a cat, a parrot, a monkey or bird. Naidie, be it said, was simply the cutest little alligator that ever stretched its tiny paws on the bank of a Florida creek and took its sun bath. It almost could be called a baby alligator. Constance Talmadge and Naidie met during one of the scenes wherein Miss Talmadge is seen strolling along the bank of a small rivulet lined with big sheltering plants. The cameras were in action and Director Chet Withey had shouted instructions to Harrison Ford who plays the part of Reginald Carter in "Wedding Bells," to walk toward Miss Talmadge. It was just at that time that the pretty screen star noticed Naidie. Naidie was stretched out squarely in the path where Miss Talmadge was to walk. Naidie's eyes looked appealingly into the star's as if to say: "Please lady, don't walk on me I've been hurt enough already." And a bruise on one of the corrugations of the tail of the alligator (If an alligator can be said I have a tail) with a jagged stone lying nearby told the tale.
