ANAHEIM DEFEATS ORANGE BY 21 TO 13
Great was the battle between Orange and Anaheim yesterday afternoon on the former's field. The Anaheim blue and gold was flashing at one end of the field, while the Orange colors of orange and white were on display at the other end.
In the first quarter Anahelp kicked off, sending the ball far down the field. It was caught by an Orange player who succeeded in making a great sweep of the field. After several minutes of hard fighting, Chayes of Anaheim carried the ball across the goal line. Then to make seven points, Cook kicked the goal.
The next minutes of the game were very exciting. Anaheim made great gains but was penalized several times for various offenses.
Johnson of Orange, having an open field before him, grabbed the ball and made a spectacular dash of 80 yards for a touchdown. Orange kicked the goal, tipping the score. Thus the score remained until the second quarter.
After a period of much scrimmaging, Cook carried the ball safely thru enemy territory, resulting in another touchdown. He put the ball between the two posts and made the score 14 to 1.
Orange had to fight long and hard before another touchdown was made. Murty Thompson made a field dash and carried the ball safely over. They failed to kick the goal and thus the score was 13 to 14. Great was the excitement in this quarter. Everything was progressing nicely for Anaheim until someone made a blunder and Anaheim was penalized 50 yards for hurdling. No touchdowns were made in this quarter.
In the last lap of the game, Clayes succeeded in gaining the ball and carried it across the line, which with a goal kicked by Cook, resulted in the final score: 21 to 13.
Anaheim was represented by a goodly number of rooters as well as was Orange. The band from the neighboring town was out in full force.
Owing to the poor condition of the field, the boys of the local high did not work on the part of both men. Bull Montana was declared winner in his wrestling match last night with Al Sparks of Anaheim.
Montana won the first fall in 41 minutes and 22 seconds and the third and deciding one in two minutes and 19 seconds. Sparks secured the second fall in 7 minutes and 9 second. The local man put up a wonderful showing against his more experienced opponent. It could be seen that Al was lacking in experience on more than one occasion. He had the Bull in a bad way several times and it was only by tremendous effort that Montana successfully broke out of them.
The big crowd present nearly tore the house down when Sparks secured his first fall. Bull settled down to business right from the start for he saw that to win he had to get to work. A lot of his stall stuff was lacking in last night's engagement. As usual he made good use of those famous whiskers of his but they didn't seem to bother Al in the least. It was a splendid match—exciting and interesting all the way and the crowd left thoroughly satisfied.
Young Georges of Los Angeles and Jack McLellan of Huntington Beach put up an exciting 15-minutes of snappy work in their preliminary that was declared a draw. Both boys worked hard every minute.
Billy Darnley acted as the referee for the main bout on account of Barny Bernard failing to show up as per agreement. He performed in a most satisfactory manner, pleasing all concerned.
A good house greeted the show and the arena looks to be the real thing for athletic entertainments in the future. A permanent roof is being put on to take the place of the temporary one and it will help keep the place a good deal warmer.

was 13 to 14. Great was the excitement in this quarter. Everything was progressing nicely for Anaheim until someone made a blunder and Anaheim was penalized 30 yards for hurdling.
Owing to the poor condition of the field, the boys of the local high did not accomplish as much as they desired.
This game ends the football battles of the league. It had to be played as the result of a tie several weeks ago.
TWO MAIN EVENTS AT ARENA FRIDAY
Athletic Munaker Billy Darnley is arranging a crackerjack of a card for the Anaheim Athletic club's opening boxing show at the new arena Friday evening. Six fast bouts are being carded between goods boys, assuring plenty of real action.
There is to be a double main event. Jack Iman, the big local husky, will try conclusions with Dan Mackey, of Los Angeles, who is reputed to be a rough and ready mixer with a wicked wallop. In the other half of the double2 bill, Young Dudley, the crack colored boxer of Anaheim, will make his appearance against Willie Hunt, a clever, two-fisted performer from the city of the Angeles.
In the preliminaries, Bennie Heller is to tackle Ernie Farren, a good 118-pounder from Los Angeles. Young Burton, the colored flash, mixes with Joe Layman, another Angel City lad, said to be right there when it comes to delivering the ring stuff in A-1 fashion. Kid Louie, too, has a hard contact on his hands when he faces The Kulu Kid who is said to be another Burton when it comes to action.
The curtain raiser will be between the two willing youngsters, Young Frankie of Placentia and Tmfny Reyes of Fullerton. The card looks a "humdinger" all over and a good turnout is expected for the club's opener.

CHINO CORONA HAS NICE, LIGHT SHOWING
Puente Hills
Running a core barrel at 3200 feet the Chino-Corona United struck showing of nice light oil and the deepening of the test well is going forward under favorable conditions.
Water trouble at Bardeen No. 1 has caused the consideration of pulling the 6-in, and going deeper to re-cement. Drilled to 2260 this well has shown strong evidence of a producer but has been held up on account of water.
Gas continues to work on the pumping equipment and to date the real production of Mahala No. 1 is still more or less of an estimate. When the well produces unhindered it makes better than 300 barrels daily. As soon as the pumping can be done without the gas bothering this well will surprise both its owners and knockers. The oil is running 25 gravity. Gasoline is being produced by condensation in the gas line. The Mahala has a whole refining and producing plant in one well. Drilling on No. 2 started several days ago.
The St. Helens Petroleum did not stop for the showing at 2100 feet. Drilling is now at 2300 in sandy brown shale.

SHOW IMPETUS TO POULTRY INDUSTRY
The biggest feature the Southern California Poultry Show Committee has developed for their show on December 13-17, is catering to the novices and not to the old time or present fancier. The look of interest in the poultry industry in general has caused the committee to make this show a big Educational Show and try and make every day's program as practical as possible.
Over 1000 letters and special announcements with entire blanks have gone out from Secretary Tenney's office at 508 N. Main. These have gone to the owners of some of the largest and many of the smallest flocks in Southern California.
Although no effort has been made to make this show anything but a ribbon show, the above letter has been held up in order to make mention of special awards offered by many poultrymen and others interested in the welfare of the show.
On Friday, Dec. 16th, there is to be a special farm account school for the poultryman as an added feature to the Poultry Show. At this time Mr. Wright, who will be conducting a series of Farm Account Schools on special subjects throughout the county, will devote the entire day to individual cost accounts and production sheets for all poultrymen.
