PREPARE FOWLER 1 FOR PRODUCTION
Huntington Beach
Fowler No. 1 deepened to 3473 is being prepared for production. This well is the deepest in the so-called lower zone. Fowler No. 3 is drilling at 1400. Huntington A-1 water test looks good and this well will go on production at 3000 feet. Huntington No. 6 set eight-inch at 3427 and is ready to drill out. Denison No. 1 is a new well and is building rig, and a location has been made for Pearce No. 2.
The Argonaut Oil Co.'s Wilson No. 1 is now flowing by heads and is averaging better than 400 barrels daily. Turley No. 2 is drilling and shows 1000 feet. Johnson No. 1 set 15½ and is ready to go ahead.
George E. Cloud No. 1 has been thoroughly washed and cleaned out, the rods and tubing are in and the well starts pumping today. Sand has given this well a lot of trouble, but it is believed that there will be no further trouble on that score.
The Eddystone Oil Co.'s Davenport No. 1 came in a week ago at 500 barrels. The production has been steadily increasing until now it has reached the 1000-barrel mark. The well is acting much like the big Miley gusher and will probably duplicate it. Huff No. 1, drilling out on the north side of the field, is at 4255 and showing only hard sand. Ashton 3 is drilling in oil sand at 3650 and looks like a nice well.
At Edens Syndicate it is the intention to cement at 2280 and bring the well in at that point. With the Hurst well fixed up the Edens Syndicate should come in without further trouble or delay.
At 3875 the best that the General Petroleum's Community No. 1 is showing is a little gas. The formation is hard shell. The outlook is not very encouraging.
The Golden Dome failed to get a satisfactory shutoff at 2860 and immediately re-cemented at the same depth.
The Gypsy OH Syndicate's No. 1 has settled down to a daily production of 225 barrels and will probably hold at this figure. At No. 2 the cement is being drilled out
ber of wells now battling with the sand.
The Hurst Oil Co. is rigging up No. 2 and will start drilling in a few days. Wigle & McBride, local contractors, were awarded the contract to drill the well. No. 2 Hurst is to be known hereafter as Leonis No. 1.
While attempting to loosen the six-inch and pull it out Malis-Aldam crown block was pulled in and the derrick damaged. This well is to be carried on down from 2591 to a deeper oil sand Mallis Syndicate No. 1 is ready to be received at 2590.
At 2670 some very encouraging oil showings appeared in the Miller Syndicate and drilling on to 3682 the showings were strong enough to warrant the setting of pipe. The eight-inch was landed at set at 3680.
Motor Oil No. 1 is rigging up with the cable tools to drill out the cement at 2379. Motor Oil believes it has a well and will surprise the Central Petroleum whose Community No. 1 is drilling at almost 3900 feet and has not shown anything but a little gas.
Mijey-Keck No. 7 at 3600 feet showed considerable oil and set the pipe. No. 8 and 3000 feet is in the sandy shale. No. 3, the big producer, has dropped to 400 barrels. No. 2 is now doing about 45 barrels. Work started on No. 1 yesterday.
Pacific Oil and Gas failed to get a shutoff at 2555, drilled on to 2575 and re-cemented.
After getting a perfect shutoff at 2850 and ready to drill on into the oil sands Peerless Petroleum ran into hot salt water a few feet below the cementing. It is the intention to drill on and find the next sand.
Petitfills Syndicate No. 2 finished recently at 2715 is already a producer at 400 barrels. Drilling on No. 3 is at 700 feet.
FORUM COMMITTEE SEEKING SPEAKER
It was hoped that Benjamin B. Hampton, formerly editor of Hampont's Magazine, and now one of the most prominent figures in California, might consent to be the speaker at this month's meeting, of Anaheim C. of C. Early this morning it was ascertained that this speaker would be in another meeting on Monday next, the regular night set for this meeting.
Dr. Rudopu B. von Kleinsmid, newly elected president of the Univ.of So.Calif., has written to in the hope that he would deliver one of his great inspirational talks regarding organization work before the membership, but he has written to the secretary that his business in closing up his connection with the University of Arizona at Tucson, keeps him there until after Dec. 1st. Dr.von Kleinsmid states:
"I regret very much that I shall not be in California on the 28th of November, as the last week of Novem ber finds me booked solidly in attempting to close up the affairs here looking to my departure for Califonia. I hope to be of service to Anaheim C. of C. later. To be able do so, will be a genuine pleasure."
In view of the above, the forum committee will announce the date of the meeting within a day or two. This committee is working on several other speakers, and it remains only a question of finding a day to suit the convenience of one of these.

The Golden Dome failed to get a satisfactory shutoff at 2860 and immediately re-cemented at the same depth.
The Gypay OH Syndicate's No. 1 has settled down to a daily production of 225 barrels and will probably hold at this figure. At No. 2 the cement is being drilled out and a water test made at 2361. Indications point to a shutoff. No. 3 is drilling at 2300 feet.
Believing that compressed air will work wonders in cleaning out a well and ridding it of sand Huntington Owners is rigging up to try out the idea. Compressed air will be forced down thru the tubing and will flow the oil and sand out thru the six-inch casing. The experiment is being watched with interest and if successful will be of tremendous advantage to the large num-
