SPORTING EVENTS SPARKS RARING TO GO AFTER MONTANA A capacity crowd is expected tonight when the Anaheim Athletic Club throws open the doors of its new arena on the Sugar Factory grounds, on Los Angeles and State Highway. Everything is in readiness for the big fracas between Bull Montana, and Al. Sparkes, the feature of the club's official opening. Both men are fit and ready for a gruelling struggle and both are confident of winning. Besides that $500 purse which goes to the winner is not being laughed at by either man. Bull needs but little recommendation as to his ability as a high class wrestler. He has met and defeated some of the best mat artists in the game; is a veteran at the sport and knows every angle. Sparkes, on the other hand, while comparatively a new comer to the mat game, is a good man, and is onto the tricks of the game a bit himself. So, Mr. Bull Montana will have his work cut out to put anything over Anaheim's strong boy tonight. In the few engagements he has had Sparkes has proven that he is a smart youngster and as cool as ice while under fire. The meeting this evening should long be remembered by the sport lovers for the interest and excitement it is bound to display. Sparkes can hardly wait for the call of the time. He is just 'rarin' to go and if he loses, he will have no excuse to offer. A win over Bull means much to him. He realizes that fact and is going to mbe "some battle," bank on that. SPROUL, HARTRANFT, FIVE POINTS TAKE 2 FROM VULCANIZERS Five Points Service Station took two SPROUL, HARTRANFT, DEAN PLAY IN GAME "Kawale." Sproul, formerly a member of Santa Ana high school football team, and Hartranft, and Dean, formerly Fullerton high players got into the game between the University of California and Stanford at Stanford Saturday. Sproul, now living at San Jose, went in as a substitute for end and Hartranft, of Fullerton, as a substitute for guard, both for Stanford. Dean of U.C., whose home is also at Fullerton, went in as substitute for left tackle, on the team that defeated Stanford, 42 to 7. SECOND CHILD DIES WITHIN TWO WEEKS The death yesterday of Lettle Wygan, 19-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Wygan of Costa Mesa, has led to an investigation by physicians of the Orange county hospital. The little girl was the second member of the Wygan family to die within the past few weeks of enteritis of inflammation of the intestines, and hospital physicians are conducting laboratory tests in an effort to determine the cause of the illness. The first death was that of Alice Wygan, aged three, who died little more than one week ago of enteritis. The death of her sister yesterday led to the ordering of an investigation by Dr. Zaiser, hospital superintendent, but members of the hospital staff this morning confessed themselves mystified as to the probable cause of the disease. SEALS INCREASE UNDER GOVT. GUARD VICTORIA, B.C., Nov. 22:—After having been reduced in numbers from 2,500,000 to less than 125,000 through indiscriminate slaughter, the great seal herd of the northern Pacific has, under the protection afforded them by the government, again increased until it is estimated that there are at least 600,000 of the valuable mammals between the coast of Washington and the leey shores of Alaska. FOR SALE 20 acres (1744 trees) which unquestionably stands unchallenged as the best orange grove in this section. A grove with a record, a grove with a future. There is not one weak feature attached to this offering. Upon inspection one becomes impressed with the size of the trees, their vigor, health and thrift condition. The soil is of the finest, setting indicates that it will be one of the heaviest producing 20 acres in Orange-co. This is a grove which has received not only the best care, but all work has been done by the owners themselves. Its location is ideal, situated in city limits, 3 blocks from the new postoffice, with frontage on 8 streets. The only reason this splendid grove is on the market is due to one of the owners being desirous of returning east. It is offered for sale at a ridiculous low figure, and we are prepared to produce figures which will show an income of 22 per cent. This is your big opportunity to purchase a grove which is now increasing in value. Don't wait until the fruits color up. Don't wait until the owners change their minds but buy now. 5 acres of 5-year-old Valenclas that would do your heart good to see. The trees have an exceptionally heavy setting for next year, with every indication of sliding up well. Soil conditions fine. This grove is all piped." There is a nice home, all modern with garage, which makes this proposition exceptionally attractive. We doubt if there is another 5 acres which can compare with this. Anyone purchasing this beautiful grove will feel greatly satisfied especially when the fruit colors up.
