PLACENTIA, Nov. 10.—(SpL.) The B. & H. Cafe, formerly owned by Verne Sayre and recently sold to Walter Castator from Pritatoma, Calif., has been completely remodeled and opened again to the public. There are tables for those who wish them and the whole place is light, clean and airy, in all a very good place to go to get very good meals.
Mr. and Mrs. Joke Edwardson entertained with a goose dinner on Tuesday evening, at their beautiful home on Valencia-ave. The Hallowe'en motif was carried out in the decorations throughout the spacious rooms.
The centerpiece of the dinner table was a pumpkin with a face cut in both sides and a corn cob pipe in each mouth. Grass took the place of hair on the head.
Nut baskets of oranges and corn shocks of celery and pimento cheese were unique features of the table. Black oats attached to orange crepe paper streamers from the electric fixture marked each place.
Every guest enjoyed the dinner and galley to the fittmost. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Felling, Mr. and Mrs. Weadon of Anaheim and Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Kenney.
The Better Mothers' Club held its regular meeting at the home of Mrs. G. A. Riddlebarger on Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Stennet as assistant hostess.
Many useful and original Christmas suggestions were told of and demonstrated by Mesdames H. P. Bender Schalles, and W. L. Rideout.
Miss Ruth Howerton sang "When There is Love at Home," with Mrs. Jess A. Warner at the piano. She gracefully responded to an encore.
The next meeting of the Better Mothers' club will be in the Round Table club house with the members of the Round Table as guests. A speaker from Barker Bros. will be present. All members are urged to come and brush their friends.
Mrs. H. P. Bender and Mrs. J. P. Monroe were hostesses to a merry party of friends at their homes on Holiday night. The guests are all arrayed in the regulation ghost costume, sheets and pillow cases. They were rather noisily greeted upon their entrance thru the back door. The next hour or so spent at "500."
The party then proceeded to Mrs. Monroe's home where they made serious havoc of the good things prepared to refresh their ghostly stenchs. Wird ghost stories told with lowered lights were listened to; then the ghosts walked once more.

VARIED PROGRAM
Mrs. H. P. Bender and Mrs. J. P. Monroe were hostesses to a merry party of friends at their homes on Halloween night. The guests are all arrayed in the regulation ghost costume, sheets and pillow cases. They were rather noisily greeted upon their entrance thru the door. The next hour or so was spent at "500". The party then proceeded to Mrs. Monroe's home where they made serious havoc of the good things prepared to refresh their ghostly stomachs. Wizard ghost stories told with lowered lights were listened to then the ghosts waited once more. Back they went in ghostly silence to Mrs. Benders and played games until at late hour when the ghosts all disappeared.
The Community Council had a pot luck dinner at the home of Mrs. J. E. Scott on Tuesday last. Officers elected for the following year were: Rev. H. P. Gage, President; Mrs. T. L. McFadden, Vice president; Mrs. P. L. Bradford, secretary; Mrs. J. E. Scott, treasurer.
IDAHO TOURISTS LIKE SOUTH CALIF.
Anaheim has a number one campground, according to Ed Ashley and family of Hoise, Ida., and Charles N. Ansely and family of Canada, more recently of Hoise, who are stopping at the local camping ground.
In motoring into So Cal, from the north, the country for the last 25 miles was found the richest in the state they declared. There are nuts, japonica oranges, oil and climate, the last in capital letters, they said. The roads are good, too—none others like them, and Los Angeles is the busiest town we ever struck. We were especially struck by the vast number of new buildings going up everywhere.
They are on their way to San Diego where they will spend the winter.
VARIED PROGRAM MARKS P.-T. A. MEET
GARDEN GROVE, Nov. 10—Fifty-two members responded to roll call at last Thursday's meeting of the Garden Grove Parent-Teacher Assn.' A varied and interesting program was given.
The fifth grade girls, with Miss Jones at the plano, sang a charming autumn song.
An interpretive dialogue was cleverly given by Katheryn Kirwen.
The first and second grades carried off the grade honors for having the largest number of mothers present.
After a brief business session Mrs. Harper gave a ten-minute parliamentary drill while he closed a much enjoyed meeting.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal Landers, of Los Angeles, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Magill.
Don Chaffee, of Puente, spent several days this week visiting in Garden Grove.
Mr. and Mrs. James Magill have moved onto the Putnam place north of Garden Grove.
