Mullinex and Joe Wagoner returned early Friday morning from a hunting trip in Old Mexico where they spent ten days looking for deer, shooting quail, and battling Mexico's highways. The ten days were spent camping and owing to the fact that the party did not have time to "pack in," no deer were shot. However, the party reported that deer were plentiful in the back hills. Quail were in abundance and some real shooting was enjoyed. In commenting on the trip, Mr. Goodrum said: "The part of the country we spent most of the time in is 250 miles from here, south of Encenado, Mexico, and is one of the most beautiful valleys on the coast. That there is plenty of deer there we were positive from the tracks encountered. However, they are mostly back in the hills and special preparations have to be made in order to go into the back country. Some of the best quail shooting to be found anywhere in there. But when it comes to roads there are none." SANTA ANA ELEVENS DIVIDE DOUBLE BILL Poly's band of football warriors lost a practice game to Chaffee Union's seconds on the grounds of the latter, the final score being 12 to 0. Both teams played a hard game, but the winners were aided by fumbling on the part of Santa Ana players. While the first squad was being drubbed by the Chaffee warriors, the Santa Ana seconds and the 130-pound lads were defeating the Huntington Beach team first team on the local grounds to the tune of 12 to 0. The seconds played the first half and the 130-pounders finished up for Santa Ana. ANAHEIM DOESN'T PLAY WITH AZUSA Anaheim high football team did not go to Azusa for a practice game yesterday afternoon, as planned. The locals did not relish the back-east type of game as far as wallowing in the mud goes. Also, the locals are rather badly battered up at present, the injured list being headed by Captain Cook who has an enlarged gland under one arm. FULLERTON-SANTA MONICA GAME OFF The game between Fullerton high school first football team and Santa Monica, scheduled to play for this afternoon, was postponed until Monday afternoon because of the rain. Officials Back From Meeting of League Mayor William Stark, Councilmen Charles Mann, F. U. Gibbons and Howard Gates, City Attorney Homer Ames, and City E. O. Seward have returned from the convention of the league of California municipalities, held at Santa Monica. The local officials attended only the two last days. The convention was the largest of its kind ever held, and filled the municipal auditorium of Santa Monica. The principal matter of discussion was the initiative, measure for the development of hydro-electric water power, which was the recommendation of the committee appointed at the special meeting at Sacramento about five months ago. There was only one city that opposed the measure. The vote in favor of the measure was unanimous. Mr. Steward pointed out that this spoke in no unmistakable form just how public officials stand on the municipal ownership of the power plants, and that they think it to be the best interest of he community and city that these be owned and operated by the cities. The next meeting will be held at Palo Alto. The total value of the passenger cars produced in 1920 was $1,809,170,963. "Transportation will be arranged for all who let the Y office know that they are planning to go," declared McKee who announced that the program would open with the camp set-up, followed by supper prepared and served in camp. After the supper hour, members of the party will take the opportunity offered by the genial gathering to join together around a campfire, to become acquainted and all will join in singing and the interchange of experiences. Sunday services will open with the flag raising at 7:30, followed by breakfast, immediately after which Bible study will be directed by Rev. Frank M. Dowling.
