EBELL LOT ALL PAID FOR
At the opening meeting for the Fall season of the Ebell club of Anaheim yesterday afternoon, a season of rejoicing occurred when the lot committee reported the full required amount has been secured, and the beautiful lot purchased last June by the club on the corner of Broadway and Clementine is paid for, the purchase price having been $3000. The next effort of the club will be plans for the club house, which the ladies hope to erect in the near future.
The meeting found several committee members and a few officers still out of town on their vacations, hence it was not a complete report of the coming year's work which was heard. Among other interesting matters which came up was inclusions on the monthly programs of an hour given over to current events, and a period of time to parliamentary drill, the suggestions being acted upon at call from the program committee.
Reports from Mrs. H. O. Henderson, of the music department, and from Mrs. R. B. Herman, of domestic science section, were heard. Organization of dramatic and other sections is under consideration, these to be discussed at a later time.
The club now is composed of about 125 members and several new names were received yesterday afternoon. The officers elected last June are follows: President, Mrs. J. H. Garnett; vice president, Mrs. J. P. Brastad; recording secretary, Mrs. B. H. Sidnam; cor. sec'y., Mrs. C. E. Hurbison; treas., Mrs. Grace Reed; librarian, Mrs. J. A. Clayes; curator, Mrs. H. O. Henderson.
There was no formal program arranged for the meeting yesterday, but Mrs. W. B. Holland very graciously responded to requests and sang sweetly two solos: "Two Souls," (Riester) and "My Gentle Child," ((Teresa del Riglo.) It has been the custom of the program committee to frequently obtain talent for the club programs from outside cities, but it was decided yesterday this is entirely unnecessary and they will arrange their numbers from local talent almost exclusively.
There is no question as to the satisfaction and enjoyment which this decision will bring, as Anaheim boasts of more than the as they learned of her birthday anniversary. The girls presented Miss Sparkes with a beautiful floral bouquet and a set of sheeret glasses. At six o'clock a delleious four-course luncheon was served. Following a taffy pull, the girls rolled up the rugs and dancing was enjoyed. Miss Edna Hochuli entertained with several instrumental selections. The guest list included Misses Hazel Railey, Lucille Bastian, Helen Weber, Peggy Humeston, Marjorie Ralne, Myrtle Winters, Edna Hochull, Calyfe Sparkes, Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Sparkes, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Snodgrass, Mr. Jack Clemens and the hostess, Miss Philura Sparkes.
CLINIC IN NEW LOCATION
The first meeting of the Baby Welfare Clinic in the new location, the Guild hall, was held this morning, Miss Kuehl, public nurse in charge, as usual. There is increased and active interest being shown in the clinics, and the follow-up work in the homes is entirely pleasing and beneficial. Every week there are mothers seeking help and information about their babies and the benefit they derive serves to bring other inquirers.
Mrs. Baich, who was recently appointed to our unitique su salute de pajuoj public health committee, vice Mrs. Phillips, resigned, is pushing the work along well and will make a successful department, with the help of her assistants and the nurse, Miss Kuehl.

NEIGHBORS DISCUSS BUSINESS
The regular business meeting of the Royal Neighbors was held at their club rooms yesterday at the Odd Fellows hall. Different plans were discussed and light refreshments were served following the meeting.
CHISPA WILL ENTERTAIN
Yorba Linda chapter, O. E. S., came to Anaheim as the guest of Chispa chapter last evening, and exemplified the initiatory work, one candidate, Miss Valle Pember, being made a member of Chispa chapter, and three young men going into the Yorga Linda chapter.
District deputy matron, Mrs. Newell, of Yorba Linda, gave a splendid talk after all had repaired to the banquet room for refreshment, telling of her summer trip through the northern part of the state in her official capacity, in a delightfully interesting manner. Other talks were made by Mrs. Hoggin, of Yorba Linda, Mr. C. B. Berger, of Orange, and Mrs. Adams, Worthy Matron of Chispa chapter.
Particularly pleasing was the solo sung by Mrs. Alexander, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Salisbury, both members of Yorba Linda chapter, but who contemplate membership in Chispa chapter, as they are now residents in Anaheim, the husbands being the new owners of the Cherry Blossom.
Hermosa chapter, of Santa Ana, will be guests of honor at the first October meeting in Anaheim.

LA HABRA, Sept. 13.—The La Habra school is spick and span for the school will be spick and span for the crowd of young Americans who will enter their portals.
There are nearly 400 pupils in this district requiring the efforts of sixteen teachers. The principal, D. A. Baker, is not new to many parents of La Habra valley, having taught here several years ago before the school had reached its present proportions.
There are ten rooms in the original building, and last year four new rooms were added, one of these, a kindergarten room claims the best equipment of any kindergarten in the state. And the equipment of all the rooms are above the average.
The teachers have been selected with care and included, from the first to the eighth grades.
The Misses Moody, Daggett, Taylor, Helm, Wilkins, Funk, Von Grunigen and Canfield, with a Mexican-speaking teacher to assist in the fourth grade, Miss Arni; Art, sewing, and cooking, Miss Irene Catlin; Manual arts, J. A. Bays; kindergarten, W. S. Knapp; first and second grade in the W-st side school, Miss Helen Chase, and Miss Ruth Peabody, Miss Druzilla Mackey, Americanization.
Miss Clara Brown kindergarten teacher here for two years, has severed her connection with the La Habra grammar school to accept a position in the state normal at Tempe, Arizona, where she will be the director of teacher-training in the kindergarten department.
Miss Brown left La Habra Friday and takes up her new duties on next Monday. These consist of the junior and senior classes of young women who wish to make this branch of school work their specialty. La Habra regrets very much the leaving of this talented teacher.
James M. Foley of Los Angeles, was the attraction at the social hall after the banquet given by the Brotherhood to the young ladies of the Sunday school. His sleight-of-hand and magic tricks kept the audience amused for an hour, Mrs. Wagg gave a number of pleasing piano selections and Miss Robbins a reading in dialect.
