EXPECT BIG CROWD AT PASADENA GAME
Tomorrow afternoon it is expected the largest crowd that ever saw a baseball game in No. Orange-co., will be on hand for the crucial contest between Anaheim and Pasadena Elks for the So Cal. Elks league baseball championship.
It had not been decided today by the pawns that he, whether Hughes who pitched such marvelous ball at the Crown City, should be sent back to the Pasadenaans, or Herb Salveson would-be given a chance. Both were declared to be on edge.
The locals are going to fight even more attentiously than last Sunday, if that were possible. Whatever may be said of the locals, they're not crabbers. Stick up for their rights, yes, but crab, no. And they regard with justice the Pasadena crew as the biggest bunch of crabbers, not to say sourheads, that ever came down El Camino Reel. For instance, after all their crabbing and despite the one-sided score of 8 to 1, there were those among the Pasadena crowd who declared they should have won.
"Well, the boys are determined to go after Sunday's game just to see how big a score they can pile up," declared Manager Pete Hax today.
Kid Mobley, former Coast League star, and Dutch Rall, semi-promoter, are scheduled to be referees.

"I have fallen off eight pounds due to worry since I saw your line-up in the paper! Harry D. Riley, captain of the Rotary baseball club, this morning phone to Capt. Vie LaMont of the Kiwanis team."
"I don't know whether I shall attempt to play or not," continued Riley.
LaMont is feeling more chipper each day as the count of the final clash next Wednesday at 3 p.m. approaches.
Evan George, Palace, that sought athlete is worried by our imposing personality continues La Mont.
"It does make the Rotary club look kinda bad to issue a challenge for a baseball contest and then have to face certain defeat for the game was ever when we announced the Kiwanis line-up. Even Doc Barney has given up hope."
McMANUS HAMMERS WAY TO DECISION
Johnny McManus hammered his way to the decision over Ralph Lincoln in the main event at the Anaheim Athletic club last night, while Jack Iman and Ben Smith pounded each other around the ring for a draw in the semi-windup, the two bouts featuring the program.
Elther bout would have made a good main event in most any club.
Many hoots greeted the two little fellows in their argument, probably owing to their way of mixing in the clinches. However, it cannot be said that they didn't battle all the way.

Elither bout would have made a good main event in most any club.
Many hoots greeted the two little fellows in their argument, probably owing to their way of mixing in the clinches. However, it cannot be said that they didn't battle all the way. It was one of the best bouts held in the local arena.
Iman and Smith put up a fight that was a "slugfest" from the opening bell. Iman landed several short blows to the body and head during the first two sessions that gave him a slight lead over his opponent. However, Smith came back in the two final frames and evened matters up. It was a good draw. A return match between the big fellows would be welcomed.
Clarence Roubidoux and Joe Chaney danced through four rounds to a draw, while Johnny Adams won an easy-decision over Owen Marks. Adams had things his own way for the full route, but was unable to put his man out. It was a slow bout.
Kid Louie is still going good and won a technical knockout over Joe Carey of Los Angeles, in the third round of the curtain raiser.

ACCUSE S. A. MAN IN DOUBLE CAR CRASH
Declared by the authorities to have been responsible for a double automobile accident on the Garden Grove-Anaheim road, a mile north of Garden Grove, Frank Cook, an employee of a cleaning company, was arraigned in the justice court at Stata Ana on a felony warrant charging him with driving an automobile while intoxicated.
H. E. Roufs, of Fullerton, driver of one of the two machines with which Cook is said to have collided, swore to the complaint. He gave the district attorney's office the names of several witnesses whom he declared, would swear that Cook was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
According to Undersheriff E. E. French, who made an investigation, Cook was driving a Buick roadster. Cook was declared to have hit Roufs' car a glancing blow and after traveling about 50 yards further to have smashed headon into a touring car driven by Ralph Shores, Huntington Beach oil worker, Mrs. Shores, riding with her husband, was thrown from the car and badly bruised, but not seriously injured.
Riding with the Roufs were Mr. and Mrs. George Mann and Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Mehrkins, all of Fullerton. Roufs said there was no doubt in his mind about Cook being intoxicated. He said that Cook staggered when he got out of the machine he was trying to drive, and that he could smell whisky on his breath.
According to Roufs and Undersheriff French, Cook disappeared soon after the smashup and no one concerned in the affair knew just what became of him. It developed later that Cook reached a telephone and called the police station here. He asked that Motofcycle Frank Stewart be sent out.
He was told that the wreck was a matter for the sheriff's office to investigate inasmuch as it was outside the city limits.
"Well, I want Stewart or nobody," Cook is said to have declared.
Under Sheriff French, hurrying to the scene of the accident, could not

In eight years accurately compiled statistics have proven that the average price paid to Valencia orange growers of this county has been $2.78½ per box. In accepting these figures as a working basis I am in a position to show you a 20.4 acre orange grove situated in the city limits, that will pay a net income of 22 per cent on price asked. This grove containing 1744 trees is acknowledged to be the best in Orange county, embracing the finest soil, extra large trees suggesting a most healthful state, and a most prolific setting for next year. On but 10 acres of this grove there is at the present time an estimated crop conservatively placed at over 6000 packed boxes. No one will refute my statement when I say that on no other grove will you see manifested the intelligent care and attention as has been recorded this particular acreage. In conjunction with its wonderful value as an orange grove consider carefully its equally valuable location, right here in Anaheim a few minutes from the center, frontage on three streets and only a short distance from the new park. Another feature, one of the streets on which this grove faces will, when paved, be the direct road to Los Angeles. Think what this will mean. This is absolutely the best proposition ever offered in Anaheim, and at the price asked it has an immediate resale value or by holding as an investment will prove to be most lucrative. It will pay you to consider this grove before purchasing elsewhere. You can’t afford to permit this opportunity to escape.
