AMERICAN LEAGUE FOOTBALL MEETING THURSDAY EVENING Further steps toward the organization of a professional football team will be taken at a meeting on Thursday evening at the Anaheim bowling alleys. Everyone interested in the organization of such a team is urged to attend the meeting. It was announced today that Jimmy-Lloyd, former Ohio state university star, would be manager; Coach Harold Youngman of the Anaheim high school would be mentor, and Chas. M. Goff would be treasurer. HOME-AND-HOME MATCH WITH L. B. Bery Myre and Jimmy Heffron of Anaheim will meet Ashfield and Faustick in the first series of a poration alleys, Long Beach, Thurshome-and-home match at the Corday evening. It is probable a five-man team from Anaheim will also participate. The probable lineup is Myre, Raymond, Heffron, Gordon, Johnson and Evans. The first round of the elimination tourney will be rolled at the Bathhouse alleys, Long Beach, tonight. Johnson, the first Anaheim representative to get going, will stack up against McNell Other pairings tonight are Walters vs. Henning, Sunderland vs. DeLouix and Gardner vs. Weirs. The mixed doubles of the So. Cal. tourney will be rolled tonight at Venice instead of Wednesday as usual on account of the meeting tomorrow night of the So. Cal. bowlers association at Room 701 American bank building, Los Angeles. All Anahel mbowlers eligible to participate are urged to be on hand. P Lynch SOCIAL EVENING AT BUENA PARK INN BUENA PARK, Sept. 6 (Special) —A number of young people enjoyed a social evening at the Buena Park Inn on Saturday evening, Games, cards and dancing were the forms of amusement. At a late hour dainty refreshments of ice cream and cake were served. The guests included Miss Lucile Johnson of Hollywood, Miss Emma Robinson, Anaheim, Misses Bea Bushnell, Irna Robinson, Catherine Uttenweller and Mamie Sharp of Buena Park, Lawrence Sharp, Los Angeles, Lonnie Henderson, Los Angeles Claude Porter, Richfield, Ernest Renny, Cypress, and Lawrence Weber, Buena Park. Tuesday evening, September 12th, will be the first dance of the season by the Buena Park Massons. You will all remember the good times last year and want to be at every dance. The same orchestra from Whittier will furnish the music. Remember, September 13th. Mrs. J. W. Bishop is preparing to move to Long Beach this week. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Warren and daughters Eleanor and Florence, motored to Los Angeles on Saturday. Mr. R. C. Cauthon with a party of friends spent the week end at Cochilla. Mrs. Mark B. Fay is back at the bank after a two weeks' vacation, Bailey and Bob spent the week end at Huntington Beach. Mr. E. P. Mann and children Eunice and Donald, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. William Henshaw at Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. A. Nelson, Gertrude, Buulah and Raymond Nelson spent Sunday at Laguna Beach. Mrs. J. B. Robinson visited at Huntington Park on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Albert Moon is at the Artesia Hospital where an operation was performed last week. Mrs. Roberta Dilly, of Norwalk, is at the home of her sister during her stay at the hospital. Albert Moon had his tonsils removed last week. Mrs. Herbert Bixby received news on Wednesday of the death of her sister, Mrs. Olive Myers, at Park City, Montana. Mrs. Myers made many friends here when she visited with Mrs. Bixby last winter and all will be sorry to hear of her death. Mr. Claudie Porter of Richfield and Mr. Lonnie Henderson of Los Angeles were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Robinson on Sunday.
