PLACENTIA P. O. TO HAVE NEW LOCATION
PLACENTIA, Aug. 29.—(Spl.)—C. I. Farrar is waiting for word from the Post Office Department Headquarters at Washington, D. C., containing permission to change the location of the local post office. As soon as he receives this he is planning to move his hardware stock and post-office into the corner store-room of the same building he is now in, formerly occupied by the Grocerleria.
On Thursday evening of the last week, also on Friday evening, a film was shown at the Placentia theater, by courtesy of Mr. Bailey, showing the work of the Orthopaedic hospital school in Los Angeles. This wonderful work and the results accomplished, are well worth the interest of all and worthy of any financial aid anyone can give.
The public schools will open here on Sept. 19th. All children between the ages of three and eighteen must be registered. The teachers will take this registration the week before school opens.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lempke have returned from a week at Camp Wecahn.
Dale Moore and Stanley Ipsen are spending the week at Big Bear and Little Bear lakes.
Miss Halle Baxter, of Brenn, is spending a few days here with her sister, Mrs. Ripa Warner.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Cole have moved into the house on Melrose ave just vacated by the Fred Pelts.
Wilton Wagner, Leonard Lemke, of Placentia, and Albert Hotebrink, of Fullerton, have gone to Elizabeth lake to shoot deer.
Mrs. Jake Edwardson and daughter, Eileen, have returned from East Newport.
Garden Grove News
GARDEN GROVE, Aug. 29.—Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Blassett and family who left here by auto for a visit with relatives and friends in Lamar, Colo., and Taft and Dodge City, Kansas, June 13, have arrived home.
After leaving San Bernardino there were no boulevards going the southern route over the Santa Fe trail through Needles. The roads were not good and they had to make a detour has just returned from Ventura, where he was employed.
Mrs. Marz Merrill returned to Corona Sunday after a week's visit at the home of her son, W. M. Morrill.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Richards of Highland Park, and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Duggan and Charles Edwin, Jr., of Ontario, spent Sunday and Monday at the A. O. Kenworthy home. Mrs. Duggan is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenworthy.
Mrs. G. Root of Santa Ana, and Mrs. J. C. Armstrong and son, Trynton of Anahaim are spending several rays at the C. E. Pollins home.
Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Elliott and son, Edwin, and Mrs. Mamie Harris, motorized to Huntington Beach, Sunday.
Miss Lolita and Mettle Chaffee left Monday for San Francisco, the former leaving Wednesday for Honolulu, where she will teach at the Kamehameha school. Miss Mettle Chaffee will return home the latter part of this week.
Mrs. R. V. Newcomer of Hollywood has returned home after a visit of several days with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Pollins.
Mrs. C. M. Evans departed Monday for her home in Salt Lake City after spending several weeks with her sister, Mrs. J. V. McConnell, her daughter, Miss Pearl, will remain here for the school term.
Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Allen and family and Mrs. M. C. Chamberlain spent Wednesday at Huntington Beach.
Mrs. C. C. Haweroft departed on Tuesday for her home in Tonopah, Nevada, after spending two months with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jessup.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harris and baby and Miss Anna Ford, of Fullerton, are on a two-week's camping trip above Bishop.
Mrs. K. S. Hendrieks and Mrs. E. Miller were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dilks in Los Angeles Sunday.

GARDEN GROVE, Aug. 29.—Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Bissett and family who left here by auto for a visit with relatives and friends in Lamar Colo., and Taft and Dodge City, Kansas, June 13, have arrived home.

The trees were bare and, there were no crops until reaching California on the return trip. The heat was so intense going through the desert that travelling had to be done at night.
The Bissett family have moved into their house on Fourth-st and the Larson family, who have been occupying the house during their absence, moved into their new place on Stanford last Wednesday.
Mrs. G. L. Beardsey's Sunday school class of girls of the Baptist church motored to Huntington Beach Wednesday evening and enjoyed a plunge party.
Mrs. Benlah Urwick, and daughter Maxime, of Domona, spent Wednesday and Thursday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Nilson.
Mrs. Wm. Merrill and son Marr spent Thursday in Los Angeles.
