E. Wahlberg. "There will be four directors present from this county," stated Wahlberg, "R. E. Campbell of Orange, Dr. J. R. Schofield of Buena Park, Sidney Saunby of Tustin and myself, and we are going to ask for immediate action to be taken in the matter. Also, Orange-co will take an active part in all discussions of the day." Wahlberg declared that among the number of important problems of the farmer to be discussed, was that of agricultural freight rates and the agricultural shipping of farm products of this state. A revision downward of the freight rates will be urged and it is hoped that uniform action may be taken in the matter by all the farm bureaues, while the alleged Los Angeles monopoly of powes sites will be thoroughly investigated. A reapportionment of the state for representation in the legislature with reference to the population of the cities will also be considered. WIFE SEEKS DIVORCE Grace G. Center St. Anabeim The following essay on "Home Ownership," written by Miss Bramman, of Tracy, California, received the prize in a re-conducted contest in that city and contains so many humbled thoughts we are sure you will appreciate our giving it space its page, and we hope it will give you inspiration and help in living you started on the only right road to perpetual happiness contentment, that of acquiring a home you can some day call down: There are two specific reasons why the individual should own a home. First, moral and social; second, financial. Upon reasons, follow closely the conviction that only a city of own homes can be a city of progress. The troublesome proposition of renting entails many evils. The renter is deprived of his independence. He must take the that is vacant whether it be to his liking or not. He has no in its improvement. He never knows at what moment he receive notice of an increase in rent and he is constantly subpoenaed a landlord's arbitrary demand to move. Neither the man is family can enjoy that feeling of permanence so character of the home owner. Furthermore, what does the renter have now for the money, perhaps thousands of dollars, that he has out in rent? Absolutely nothing but a heap of rent receipts. In direct contrast to the renter stands the home owner. For individual, home ownership is analogous to success because it him a sense of permanence which in turn, develops the all-important characteristic of steadfastness. It inspires a feeling of confidence, for he knows that his home is how what he does for it he is doing for himself and for others. When repairs or improvements are needed, they are done home is always in order, pleasant and livable. The mony of the home is such that it produces a responsive mental harmony on those who occupy it. Moreover, owner enjoys the added feeling of prosperity and cause he has erected as a safeguard for old age and a real heritage for those dependent upon it. "Home Ownership is a financial as well as a moral asset. The payment of a small sum down, with balance as is often expressed, is sufficient to make a man into a home. With each monthly payment he is not merely the use of a house, but he is purchasing a real home of a home reckoned on a ten-year basis, whether conceived the standpoint of renting or buying, will range from $6000. The point is this—the man who buys his home rent to himself and in return gets a suitable place to live. The value of the house equals the money put in fore, he has the equivalent to his money in addition to own home. Symbolically speaking, the man who buys his home simply takes his money out of one pocket and restores interest, to the other. Besides, in time of financement, money can be borrowed on what is paid out in rent." SCHEDULES FARM CENTERS for the resumption of activities with the member, the schedules being worked out at farm bureau, it was H. E. Wahlberg, of all activities save marked the past at, although it was for individual farm center exhibits at the Orange county fair have been progressing. In this connection it was declared that in some of the centers a canning committee had been organized for the purchase of uniform sizes of cans to be filled with fruit for the exhibits. Ten of the farm centers of the county will offer for exhibits at the fair, which will be held at Huntington Beach, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 inclusive. MRS. ROBERTS BUYS NELSON MILLINERY Mrs. B. C. I ought to know— I grow tobacco You can't beat a Camel, because you can't beat the tobacco that goes into Camels. That's why Camels are the choice of men who know and love fine tobacco. They know what makes Camels so smooth, so fragrant and mellow-mild. They'll tell you that the expert Camel blend of choice Turkish and Domestic tobaccos makes a cigarette smoke you can't equal—no matter what you pay. But it doesn't take an expert to tell Camel quality. You'll spot it the very first puff. Try Camels yourself. Camel CONTRACTORS W. H. KIDD Plasterer and Composition Work Cor.
