BUENA PARK, Aug. 12—Spl.)—Mrs. C. W. Scott of Antelope Valley spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hitter.
Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Caithon and daughter Jewel motored to Anaheim on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Roblion and children visited with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hiserodt of Magnolia on Wednesday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hitter and family spent Sunday at Long Beach.
Friday evening, Aug. 10th at 8 p.m., the last moving picture of the season will be given at the school hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Golden were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Dunlap at Artisla on Tuesday evening.

E. B. Flinch and his family will leave next week for their old home in Burlington Oregon, for a visit of a month. They expect to go by boat.
Herritt Graves was off work for a few days this week and last, because of a wrenched back. He works on one of the Huntington Beach oil wells, but lives here.
Mrs. S. A. Bradford, who with her two daughters have been camping at their cabin at Weeshn, was forced to return home this week because of a strained ankle.
Rev. and Mrs. Frank M. Powling went to Idylwild Wednesday and will go from there to their cabin at Little Bear Lake for a short stay before returning home.
Harold Kennedy who has been visiting at the home of his grandparents at Long Beach is at home again and his sister, Laurine, has now gone there for a short visit.
Mrs. John Cox had the misfortune while in Anaheim one day this week to slip and fall and was quite painfully hurt. She limped around for a few days but is practically all right again.

R. H. Carrett, the local constable,
who is also an oil worker, was painfully scalded on both lower limbs on
Monday while at work at one of the
wells in the Brea Canyon, and compaled to take a rest of a few days.
A. E. Rogers of the Placentia Furiture Company, doesn't need a gun
when he goes rabbit hunting. He
gets them with the radiator of his
machine. If it was a Ford we could
understand it, but it isn't.
The Placentia-Paelfle well at the
corner of Bradford and Chapman is
about ready to re-count again. It
if found necessary do this to shut
off the water at the eight inch pipe.
They have been fishing for the past
two weeks for easing which they have
recovered nearly altogether.
Gordon Poore, who lost his leg in
an accident in the Placentia oil field
a few weeks ago, has recovered from
a threatened attack of pneumonia.
There was also some danger of having to have his leg amputated above

UNION SERVICES AT GARDEN GROVE
GARDEN GROVE, Aug. 12. — The Rev. Basil Silkwood has charge of the morning service at the M. R. church in the absence of the Rev. W. Harkness.
The Rev. F. A. Ames of the Free Methodist church, preached in the M. E. Church.
Next Sunday evening, the services will be held at the Baptist church.
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Schweiger and Mr. and Mrs. S. Dunn spent Sunday at Laguna Beach.
