PLEASANT AFTERNOON
Meeting at the home of Mrs. George B. Dunsmoor, the Placentia Country Club passed a most pleasant afternoon yesterday despite the warm weather. The interesting game of five hundred was played and when the scores were counted it was found that Mrs. Herbert Sullivan was entitled to the first prize. Mrs. T. L. McFadden was awarded the consolation prize.
After the games Mrs. Dunsmoor served her guests with a collation of干脆 and tasty quality. Enjoying the afternoon together were Mrs. Jas Fugree, Mrs. C. E. Scott, Mrs. Percy Bradford, Mrs. T. M. McFadden, Mrs. Herbert Sullivan, Mrs. Sidney Chapman, Mrs. George Myers, Mrs. B. H. Robertson, all of Placentia; Mrs. John Reub and Mrs. W. J. Sollis, Fullerton, and Mrs. Harry Scars and Miss Nina McLelland, Anaheim.
LADIES PLAN FOOD SALE
Division No. 2 of the Ladies Aid society of the Presbyterian church will hold a cooked food sale tomorrow afternoon at Schnolder's market at 1:30. Cooked foods of many varieties will be on hands and enough to supply a goodly number of purchasers, so everybody come and save the exertion of cooking Sunday dinner.
B SHARP CLUB IN RECITAL
The seniors of the B Sharp club, pupils of Mrs. C. A. McCullah, met at their home on East Broadway Wednesday afternoon. A short program was enjoyed followed by musical games. Light refreshments were served, the hostess being assisted by Miss Viola Johnson and Miss Natalia Sankey. Each pupil had invited a number of guests, making a very pleasant company.
The studio is now equipped with two pianos, making the studio recitals and class work very interesting. August the four clubs will go to urge-co park for the day taking in families and friends with them. Program will be given in the paon.
FOUR-FOUR CLUB MEETS
Ir. and Mrs. A. B. McCord, of So. Angeles-st, were host and host-last evening to the members of Four-Four club at a dinner party of Mrs. Thomas, on Janss-st. The lot fund was reported nearing completion, although there are some members who have not been heard from on account of absence from town.
It was decided to hold a dance in Orange-co park August 4, the date being placed so far in advance on account of present disrupted lighting facilities caused by transferring of current. A picnic supper will precede the dance.
The domestic science department sewed busily on the aprons and other articles being prepared for the bazaar to be held in a few weeks. Several wards of gingham were brot to the meeting upon request of the committee, but if others who have donated will bring their materials, they can be used to advantage at once.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Henderson at El Retiro. Light refreshment was served by the hostesses at the conclusion of the afternoon.
ENJOY EVENING OF 500
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burdick, Fullerton, Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Scott, were guests last evening of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Paris at their home on Adele st. Five hundred was played for several hands, after which Mrs. Faris served guests with light refreshments.
LIBERTY COURT MEETS
Liberty Court, order of Amaranth, held a business and social meeting last evening. In absence of the worthy mairon, Mrs. McKee, associate matron, presided: The social hour passed quickly over cards, after which light refreshments was served.
The Fullerton W. C. T. U. has invited the Placentia Union to meet with them at their next meeting at the home of Mrs. Carrie E. Ford of West Commonwealth-ave. The county president, Mrs. Hill, will address the meeting. All members are urged to be present.

ROYAL NEIGHBORS TO MEET
The Royal Neighbors of America will meet Monday afternoon at two o'clock in the usual place. Four candidates will be initiated. Refreshments will be served later in the afternoon by the birthday hostesses, the Mesdames Edith Leush, Anna Garvleck, Ida Lake and Georgiane Prince.

the June meeting, Mrs. J. T. Hutchinson was elected president; Mrs. Charles Calkins, vice president; Mrs. Floyd West, treasurer, and Mrs. McCullah, secretary.
Readings and papers along missionary lines made up the program for the meeting. After a short discussion it was voted to dispense with the August meeting on account of the vacation period interfering with attendance.
PLACENTIA W. C. T. U. MEETING
The W. C. T. U. will hold a picnic at Mrs. Margaret Strain's cottage at Laguna Beach Thursday, July 28, instead of the 26th as planned. All wishing to attend are requested to meet at the church at 9 o'clock and bring a picnic lunch. The hot drinks will be furnished. All members and friends and any who are interested are cordially invited to attend.
PLAN ICE CREAM FETE
The Fidelis class of the Methodist White Temple Sunday school will be hostesses at an ice cream social and lawn fete to be given next Tuesday evening on the lawn at the parsonage. The ladies have some original ideas to be worked out for entertainment and a large attendance is desired.

BANQUET SPLENDID SUCCESS
The banquet last night at the Methodist White Temple by members of the Fidelis Bible class to the quarterly conference of the Mexican Methodist Episcopal church and the Latin American advisory committee was a splendid success. More than 100 guests sat down to the tamale dinner served by the following women: Mesdames Ambsby, Beck, Bigelow, Brown, Coate, Edmiston, Johnson, Kuhlman and Terry.
Out of town guests included Dr. Vernon McCoombs, of Los Angeles, superintendent of the Latin American work of the M. E. church; Dr. William G. Gilbert, of Philadelphia, secretary of foreign speaking peoples of the M. E. church with 655 embracing 19 nauticalities; Miss Sampson and Dr. Ftion, also of Philadelphia, representing the board of home missions; L. William A. Brown, director of the commission on evangelism of the Interational Sunday School Assn., with headquarters in Chicago. The local advisory committee included the Mers. Edmison, Coate and Wellman.
Following the dinner te audience took part in the communia and baptismal services, also in the wedding ceremony of two members of the congregation. Altogether it was a great night for Mexican Mythodism.
