SOCIETY WOMEN'S BIBLE CLASS SOCIAL The Monthly social gathering of the Women's Bible class of the Presbyterian Sunday school was held at the home of the Misses Aubert on Tuesday afternoon, June 7. It was a most enjoyable and profitable meeting. After a prayer by Mrs. Wickett, business was transacted while the ladies were busy with needlework. The president, Mrs. W. T. Wallop, proposed several plans for mutual improvement and greater usefulness to others as the opportunity is offered, urging faithful and constant attendance and punctuality in the class. A profitable time was spent in a contest on especially noted persons in old testament history. Late in the afternoon refreshments were served by the hostesses of the day. Miss Dora Clark, Mrs. Cupp and Miss Elise Aubert. The home was beautifully decorated with carvings, pinks, Flanders popples and sweet peas. WEINIE ROAST AT BEACH The choir of the White Temple will have a Weinie Roast at Anaheim Landing tonight. All members of the choir are most cordially invited. Everyone is to bring their own basket, family and friends. The grunyon are running so bring your fishing tackle. All are asked to meet at the bridge at Anaheim Landing at 7 o'clock. HELLO GIRLS PICNIC TONIGHT Tue telephone girls of Orange-co and the other telephone employees and their friends will enjoy a picnic this evening at the Orange-co Park. It was announced today by E. A. Beard We're Going to the PICNIC of the Southern California Lumbermen and their families at their annual outing in Orange County Park. SOCIETIES MEET The Ladies' Aid and Missionary Societies of the German Methodist church held its regular monthly meeting yesterday at the home of Mrs. Kraft. There were about 25 in attendance. Good reports were returned by the delegates who attended the recent district missionary convention, and plans were made to support a Bible woman in India. Refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Malone of Pomona came over to spend the holidays with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bryan and the latter-returned home with them staying until Friday. Mr. Hooper of our boarding house was taken to the hospital Sunday in an ambulance with a severe attack of the measles. Mr. and Mrs. John Bryan were host and hostess to a big dinner Monday in honor of the Bilstrom family. Mrs. Bilstrom being a sister to Mr. Bryan, Mrs. Bryan also celebrated her wedding day, her birthday and Memorial Day. She served a delicious dinner with all the good things to eat. Those who enjoyed the dinner were, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Woods, Glendale; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bilstrom and five children, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bryan's brother came in and wished her many happy birthdays.
