POTTER 2 LOOKING GOOD AT 3250 FT. Richfield Expectations are strong for a good well at the Amalgamated Oil Co.'s Potter No. 2. Drilling at 3250 in the oil sand this well is showing up better than any well the Amalgamated has drilled in the Richfield district. Breen No. 2 shows 1250 in the conglomerate. At Brea the A. O. Co. is getting ready to put on Anaheim No. 54 at 3600 feet. A two or possibly three hundred barrel well is expected. The eight inch casing set by the Clark Oil Co. at 3600 feet failed to shut off the water. Several tests have been made and it looks like the only thing to do now is to recement. Drilled originally to 4118 feet the Clark well formerly known as the Wetzel has had a checkered career, however the United Oil Co. now working on it claim it will be put down to the Kraemer gusher depths and a well made of it. No new hole was made on the Dependable Oil Trust lease last week, it is understood that drilling will not resume until pipe now on the road has been received. With the drilling by pipe going nicely the Fullerton Oil Co. will be in a position to bring in its deep Anaheim Union well soon. Drilled to 4570 the well was showing nicely when the drill pipe twisted off leaving about 400 feet in the hole. This has been pretty well drilled by now. At McCracken No. 1 the General Petroleum is not looking for a big well. Drilled to 3270 the well has shown quite a bit of sand but the Ninety-nine out of a hundred In ninety-nine cases out of a hundred the clothes you buy here will satisfy you in price, wear, style; and fit. Bradford Bros. No. 3 at 3156 is looking somewhat encouraging. Bradford Community No. 1 is standing at 4370. Richfield No. 2 set 10 inch at 2900. The Petroleum Midway is now second with the development work in the Richfield district, with more than a dozen wells under way. Yarnell No. 14 is looking splendid at 3050 and has every indication of making a nice well. Yarnell No. 9 is drilling at 2450 in brown shale. On the Krug property development work is going ahead at top speed. No. 1 has just set 10 inch at 2761. No. 2 is also standing cemented, the ten inch being set at 2985. No. 3 is drilling at 2700, No. 4 at 1900, and No. 5 is being rigged up. At Krug No. 6 the lumber is on the ground. Richfield Yorba No. 2 is drilling in sticky shale at 3625 and is not making very much of a showing yet. On the Consolidated property No. 1 is drilling on iron at 2765. No. 2 is cleaning out at 2904 and will soon be on production. No. 3 has started drilling and shows 450 feet of hole. A string of tools (cable) was run in the latter part of last week and the actual cleaning out work with intentions to go deeper on the Richfield-Yorba No. 1 was started. Universal opinion has it that the Richfield-Yorba will get something by putting this well down to 3200 or 3300 feet. The well was originally drilled to 3150. The Richfield Giant created a real sensation at Richfield last Saturday when a nice showing of oil was struck at 3960. The oil sand was first noticed at 3936. The well is looking so good that drilling will be stopped and the hole cemented somewhere around 3900. The showing practically assures the Richfield-Giant a producer. This well was drilled in record time by Jack McKeon. The Richfield Union Petroleum Co. has a producing well shut in. This well started off at 200 barrels a week ago, storage facilities were soon exhausted, and the well will have to stand shut in until the work of completing a pipe line into the well has been finished. There is some thought of drilling the well a little deeper before putting it on final production. A little more hole would probably bring the production up to that of the Harrington-Dumas now doing close to 400 barrels. At Loftus and O'Bryan No. 1 the Standard is drilling one of the deep test wells of the Richfield district. At 5025 this well is not showing much of anything. Vejar No. 1 is also a deep well, drilling at 4880. It also is not showing much encouragement. Cuff No. 1, the next deep well in line, is cleaning out at 4736. Kellog No. 2 is rigging up. On the Kraemer No. 2 property No. 12 is drilling at 3950 and will be the next producer. No. 13 is drilling at 3175, and No. 14 at 3225. No. 15 shows 1800 feet and No. 16 is a new well starting to drill. Ltd has spudded in and is now drilling on well No. 2. No. 1 continues to be one of the most consistent producers in the field, holding steadily at 1200 barrels daily. The gravity has increased a little, now being close to 25. QUIET AT HAWTHORNE Hawthorne-Inglewood Little of importance has developed in the Hawthorne-Inglewood field the past week. The Eddistone Co. is still fishing at Rosecrans No. 1, the depth being 2800 ft. Kitselman started drilling out the cement at Merton No. 1 at 2600 ft., and Hicks No. 3 at 2179 ft. Bohon No. 3 is rigging up to drill deeper. A recent blow out there wrecked the rig completely. The Milwaukee Oil Syndicate No. 2 Lausinger is standing cemented at 1228. The Standard Oil company's Bohon is standing cemented at 1375 and Landowners No. 1 is standing at 2800. Petroleum Development Co. is making good headway with the rotary. Drilling now at 1300 is in sand and gravel. The Union Oil Co.'s Sommers No. 1 is at 2300, the work being held up on account of the sticking of the pipe.
