HERE'S HOW MONEY FOR S. A. IS SPENT
"What's the money going to be used for?"
This question may be asked by someone not familiar with the details of the financing of the work of the Salvation Army in California.
The So Calif., quota, outside of Los Angeles, is $101,400. The following statement as to the purpose to which the So Calif., quota is to go has been given by Salvation Army headquarters in Los Angeles:
The home service budget of $101,400 is for the maintenance and extension of all lines of Salvation Army home service activities.
Of this fund $15,000 is for the maintenance of the Lytton Springs Boys' and Girls' home at Lytton. This is a home and not an institution for 250 boys and girls and is established for the care, education and training for the orphaned.

HOUSECLEANING TIME FOR AUTO BATTERIES
"Along about this time of year," said Robert V. Jensen, of the Prest-O-Lite service station, "my old grandmother used to tote out the sulphur and molasses and mix up a cocktail that was supposed to knock the winter cobwebs out of you.
"Not a nice dose, either, but it did the work. You know, spring house-cleaning is a pretty good proposition for lots of things. Take storage batteries for instance. There they've been, on the job all winter, no doubt, especially where the weather has been open.
"It's a mighty good practice to drive around to the battery service station and have the little black box looked over. Maybe it's a 'well dog' and doesn't need so much as a drink of water."
"But if it isn't in the pink of perfection, the service station man will discover what alls it and check the trouble before it has gone too far." Yes, Sir, storage batteries have their sulphur-and-molasses season 100."
TWO S.A.ELK TEAMS TO PLAY SATURDAY

PAIGE
The Most Beautiful Car in America
The Qualities of a Champion
World's Championship form is the best guarantee of all round efficiency that the sporting world affords. That is the real significance of our great victory with the Paige "Daytona" 66 model on January 21st.
When this car won the world's stock chassis record by traveling at the rate of 102.8 miles per hour it proved itself, not merely a first car, but a superlatively fine engineering achievement.
You can establish this fact for yourself by riding in any Paige 66. Then, at a mere snail's pace or with the throttle half open, you will sense the finely balanced construction and immense reserve power that is basic and fundamental.
We invite you to test the 6-66 and compare it with any other car—at any price—on the American market. If you once knew that exclusive power plant you will know the Paige story no words can tell it.
