O.E.S. ENTERTAINED BY MASONS AT Y.L. YORBA LINDA, May 5—(Special)—The Masons entertained the Eastern Star members and a few friends in Ley hall Tuesday evening. The entertainment included a picture show at which the picture, "The Pinch-Hitter," featuring Charles Ray, was shown. Refreshments of ice cream, cake, and punch were served after which dancing was enjoyed by those who wished to dance while cards were played by the others. Music for dancing was furnished by a five-piece orchestra, composed of local talent. The affair was a huge success in every way. It was estimated there were slightly more than 200 present. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Shook, parents of Ralph, Lloyd and Roy Shook, and who have spent the winter here with their sons, returned to their home in Iowa the last of the week. Mr. Ed C. West has taken charge of the local post office, Mrs. Geo. Harris of Westminster, formerly postmistress here, is staying at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jones and it helping but in the post office for a couple of weeks. Mr. and Mrs. E. Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Selover attended the Morosco theatre in Los Angeles Sunday. Mrs. Lucy Quigley gave a birthday dinner for her sister, Mrs. Emma Gardner Sunday, in Orange-co park Guests present included Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Quigley and children, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Quigley and son Melvin, Mrs. Florence Davis of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Webber and Mrs. Emma Webber of Garden Grove, the hostess, Mrs. Quigley and the honoree, Mrs. Gardner. Mr. Chauncey Elichler and Miss Edith Bemis spent Sunday in Los Angeles. Mr. Murray Horne of Huntington Beach is spending a few days on his ranch. Mr. Horne has just recently sold his property at the beach and with Mrs. Horne will return here to live in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Burnison spent Sunday in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Thels and Miss Nona Daniela, attended a family re-the baseball throw in the 36-pound class. Keith Cannon and Harry Barton each won fourth place in the same elks. La Habra Items LA HABRA, May 5—The Home and Foreign Missionary society met at the residence of Mrs. C.H.Varney Thursday. The members bused themselves in piecing quilt blocks, for bed covers to be donated to two orphan homes. After a busy afternoon delicious refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Varney. Mrs. W.L.Upton, of Aldrich Ave., has been very ill for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Luins of Redlands are new arrivals here. They are located in the Swaney home on First-st. The friends Missionary society of the Friends church held an all-day meeting Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Amstutz. Mrs. Angie Bosworth spent Saturday, day and Sunday with friends in Los Angeles. The Yorba Linda Arrow club took third place at the annual track meet held in Orange-co park Saturday last. There were 15 Y. M. C. A. clubs competed and we have reason to be proud of our boys. First place was won by the Santa Ana Highlanders, with 54 points; second by the Santa Ana Black Wolves with 41 points and Arrows third with 26 points. Paul Burnison won the most points for the Arrows.
