CHAMBER ENDORSES GROVE OIL COMPANY
GARDEN GROVE, April 14. — The Garden Grove C. of C. held their regular monthly meeting in the Price-bid Monday evening. Report on the high school district were given. Mr. Arnold of Santa Ana, who represents the Better America Federation, gave a good speech. The regular election of officers for the C. of C. will be held at the next meeting in May. The following resolution was introduced to the chamber and unanimously endorsed: Whereas, there has been organized in Garden Grove a corporation known as the Garden Grove Petroleum Co., with the object in view of determining the oil possibilities of this immediate section; and Whereas, said corporation has been organized by local citizens and has been financed thus far by local capital, and Whereas, in the opinion of this body the organization of this concern and the object in view will work to the development and best interests of the community in general and to Garden Grove in particular. Therefore, be it resolved by the C. of C. of Garden Grove "now in session that the organization of this company with the object in view, is one that deserves our heartiest support; and that this organization goes on record recommending the endorsement and with the belief that the financing and the carrying on of the project should have the moral and financial support of local capital; and we can heartily commend to the investing public the entire project as being worthy their careful attention; and with the possibility of large returns on the investment.
The Epworth League of the Garden Grove Methodist church held their annual banquet and election of officers at the church last Friday evening. Following the election of officers a social time was enjoyed. There was a good attendance.
A large crowd of young people from the Epworth League are planning on attending the Epworth League convention to be held at Hemet next Friday and Saturday.
Eleven members of the Boy Scout Troop No. 1 returned Friday morning from third crossing above Orange-co park where they had been gathered is getting along nicely at present.
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Lake and daughter, Miss Eva occupanied by Miss Lley' Steidinger motored to Los Angeles Saturday afternoon.
Miss Lucille Palrechilds of Los Angles spent the week-end with her aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Fairchilds.
L. Schaefer is attending the spring session of Presbytery in Los Angeles this week.
Mrs. E. M. Vance and son, Bernard, at Long Beach, were Monday guests at the Frank McConnell home.
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Kwapp, Mr and Mrs. Fred Winter, Mr. and Mrs. Irene German spent Sunday afternoon at Orange-co park.

The bus in which Mrs. Delker was riding Monday was hit in the side by a large truck. One little boy was pretty badly cut about the face and Mrs. Delker got out with a black and blue arm.

Mr. Lambert has just received 1000 young chicks from Petaluma. They are going into the chicken business quite extensively.
Frank Rogers and family returned Saturday from a motor trip to Tulare to visit Mr. Roger's brother and Mrs. Roger's sister.
Mrs. Geo. Reyburn and Miss Nabel Woodworth attended the musical section of the Ibell club at Santa Ana Monday afternoon.
Hollis Fliz is spending a week with bla parenta, Mrs. and Mrs. R. Fitz Hollis has been stationed at the Great Lakes near Chicago, but is now in San Diego in the navy.
The following young indies, chaperoned by Mrs. Frank Millis and Mrs. Woodhouse motorized to Long Beach last Friday and enjoyed a picnic lunch and an afternoon swimming: Misses Eva Lake, Ruth Millis, Martha and Clara Carmichael, Bessie Woodhouse, Agnes Harkness, Edna Hewitt and Amelia Sidmore.
H. A. Lake and family were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Charles Cox at Long Beach. In the afternoon they all drove to San Pedro and went thru the fort.
Mrs. Mary Edmunds of Los Angeles has rented the Nearing house on Sixth st., which is being finished.

Mr. Middleton's father and mother are paying them a final visit before returning to their old home in Bolivia. Mo. They came to California eight months ago and have been spending part of the time with their daughter at Santa Paula.
Make Uniform Auto Camp Regulations
At the meeting of 70 delegates from thirty Southern California cities at Long Beach Tuesday to set up uniform regulations of auto tourist camps; the report of the committee appointed for the purpose at a previous meeting in Pasadena several weeks ago was adopted practically entirely, as recommended; maximum charge per day will be 50 cents with no freed ays and the time limit fixed at two weeks with any extensions subject to local control.
Conveniences (provided shall include phone, gas, electricity for lighting, water, comfort station and shower bath).
The delegates held sessions in the morning and afternoon and were served a delicious dinner by the City of Long Beach in Bixby Park.
Orange County cities represented were Anaheim, Fullerton, Santa Ana, Newport, and Buena Park. City Manager O. E. Stewart represented Anaheim.

C. OF C. DISCUSSES CONTROL OF FLOODS
LA HABRA, April 14—The regular session of the C. of C. met at the social hall Tuesday night. Some routine business was accomplished. The report on the membership drive was expected. Mr. W. L. York reported that hids would be opened soon for road work in this district, notably the control of the flood waters on Cypress and Walnut-ave, thru La Habra.
Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Hilbert and W. S. Christy and wife attended the banquet for the Dry Goods Assn., held Tuesday night at Orange.
Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Johnson were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. Johnson's mother, Mrs. S. J. Johnson, held Tuesday night.
Miss Emma Halig of Yorba Linda was an over Sunday guest of the G. S. Gilberts.
Mr. and Mrs. Winter Hole entertained the Whittier-ave Whistler club Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Marks were the invited guests. A full quota of members were present. These comprised Messrs. and Medames P. E. Proud, L. C. Crumrine, J. H Walker, C. Hinshaw, W Mitchell and Dr. and Mrs. Millican of Whittier and Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Marks of Fullerton. First prizes were won by Mrs F. E. Proud and L. C. Crumrine. Delicious freshments were served by the hostesses, assisted by Mrs Marks.
