First Nat'l Bank THE ORANGE COUNTY PLAIN DEALER, ANAHEIM M. CALIFORNIA Y. M. C. A. OUTLINES ATHLETIC PROGRAM Details of the Orange County Y. M. C. A. picnic and field day at Orange park Saturday, April 30, were arranged by the Y. M. C. A. athletic committee yesterday. Letters containing entry blanks and details of the meet nace been sent from the Y. M. C. A. office to all the Y club leaders in the county. According to information in the letters, the field day and the picnic will start at 9:20 a.m. The meet will be an all-day affair in order to give parents and friends of the Y. M. C. A. boys an opportunity to see the entire meet and enjoy a picnic lunchon and the musical program at the same time. The boys will be divided into four classes for the meet. The division will be effected by weight, the classes consisting of 90-pound, 110-pound, 125-pound and the unlimited sections. A separate series of events is planned for each division. Ribbons are to be given for the first, second and third places in each event. A large ribbon will be given to high point men in each class. The high point man in the meet will receive a pennant and the club having the largest number of points will be given a cup. The meet will start at 10 a.m., following the weighing of all contestants, which will start at 9:30. The preliminary events will be run off in the morning and the finals will take place in the afternoon. Following the events of the day there will be a big weiner bake at 5:30 p.m. at which ribbons will be awarded to the winners and a program of stunts will be given by the Y clubs. A special program planned for the noon hour includes stunts and singing by outside talent, probably a group of college men if they can be secured. The announcements request that everyone bring a big lunch for the noon hour. The hungry contestants are expected to make big inroads in the viands at the noonday meal, but theWiener bake in the evening is expected to prove more popular than the midday repeat. The classes and the events in which they will compete follow: Ninety pounds and minder—50 yard dash; shoe race, 5 potato race, baseball throw, standing broad jump, centipede race for six men and relay race for six men. One hundred ten pounds and under—50 yard dash, sack race, 6 potato race, baseball throw, running broad jump, centipede race and relay race. You should see two groves that we just list-ed. They're going to be worth more money six months from now, than they're worth today, and the owner is going to get "real" money for the crop in the meantime. There is not a business in better shape today, than that of the Valencia orange grower.
