BRIEF FOR N. Y. BUSSES
New York motorists have charged that the buses on 5th-ave take too much pooch. The casual observer may agree with them. However, a careful investigation by the operating company showed that the bushes occupy but 12.6 per cent of the operating street area while buses accommodate more people than all the other vehicles combined.
PREDICT TIRE SHORTAGE
Akron manufacturers are unanimous in predicting an actual shortage this spring. They say that for the past eight months tire consumption has exceeded tire production by about four to one. The open winter has increased the use of tires. They say the standard makes will be hard to get.

DON'T NEGLECT AUTO CHAINS
Don't neglect your tire chains. After using them they should be dried, dipped into a mixture of half kerosene and half lubricating oil and hung up to drain. This prevents rust and also oils the wearing surfaces. There will not be enough oil left to damage tires; but there will be enough to add materially to life of chains.
