VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE
A very pleasant surprise was tenred Mrs. R. R. Pember, on Tuesday evening at her home on N. Westside with the daughters of the house,
Mr. Arthur A. Kemper, Misses Valand Esther Pember as the hostses. The guests included the members of the Hecla, South Dakota, club
and a few invited guests.
The decorations were pretty spring
flowers and the evening was delightfully spent playing cards and enjoying good music. Mrs. Pember received a number of very pretty gifts.

Regular meeting was held Friday
evening at the gym arena with Scoutmaster Rew,R.J.Statum and Attorney C.Allen in charge.
After the regular business meeting, extensive plans were made for a five-day camp at our summer camp in the San Bernardino mountains.
We will spend the greater part of
the time completing the lighting system and wireless outfit at the cabin.
We expect to do considerable trailing and each scout will be equipped with fishing tackle and we intend to bring home real fish and new fish etories.
LOARA NO.12
Last week's meeting was postponed until Wednesday of this week on account of Easter vacation which was held all last week.
The meeting will be held at Loara school house, permission having been granted by the school board.
Twenty-four boys have signed up for the troop and the organization work will be carried out by the executive, E.E.Heldt,Scoutmaster E.Hunter of Anaheim, who will take charge of the troop.

The weekly meeting was held at school house Tuesday afternoon, d Scoutmaster Edgar Meyer outed plans for an over-night hike to riverado canyon on Thursday and day, where all members of the pop are going to take second class arts and practice scoutcraft.
The troop committee will furnish totos to the canyon and meet us on the return trip.

At our last meeting Friday night we held our final examinations for underfoot tests in preparation of our vestiture ceremony next Friday night.
Twenty-one scouts are now ready and we expect 24 by next meeting.
We expect to leave on Thursday a two-day hike to the mountains the vicinity of Santiago peak.

Our last regular meeting was held Friday afternoon in the Y hut, Scoutmaster Tobe Oertly in charge.
We worked on our wireless outfit and expect to have it completed in two weeks. We then had first aid practice and a fireman's relay race.
We are planning to join the Katella troop in their overnight hike to Silverado acyon.
We closed with a lively game of baseball.

The last regular meeting was held at the Christian church scout room with Rev. Spleer in charge.
The troop is in need of an assistant scoutmaster and invites anyone who will consider this offer to attend the regular meeting next Friday night.
The troop is planning a hike during vacation into the mountains and will work on the new Sunday school building which will soon be completed.

At the regular meeting last Wednesday night at the "Y" hut the troop was given a few pointers in drill work and then told an interesting story on army life by Dr. Wilhelm, scoutmaster.
The troop will soon start to clear the ground for a troop camp site and week-end hiking ground, which will be given by the scoutmaster.
An overnight hike will be taken Friday and Saturday to Trabuco canyon.

We met at the school house last Friday night with Scoutmaster H.ixon in charge.
Plans were discussed to raise aid to help build our log cabin.
It was decided to have a trooporden and secure more old newspapers put on a scout show.
We will take an overnight hike it will spend a large part of vaca-cing ground and getting lum-r for the cabin.
The site for the cabin is a beautiful one in the foothills and visible from many peaks where we can sigl- and pass our scout tests.

The regular troop meeting was held at the town hall Thursday night with Scoutmaster Ross N. Hodon in charge.
All members were present and vot- to take a bike hike during vacation week to the county scout camp.

The leading man is Matt Moore, a talented and popular screen artist who has been seen in numerous successes. Rubye de Remer, who according to Paul Helleu, the famous French artist, is "the perfection of womanly charm," has the principle feminine role. Julia Swayne Gordon, whose virile portrayal in "Hellotrope" has made her famous, has an unusually dramatic role in "The Passionate Pilgrim." Others in the cast include: Mary Newcombe, Tom Gulse, Frankie Mann, Claire Whitney, Van Dyke Brook, Charles Gerard, Sam J. Ryan, Arthur Donaldson, Albert Boccardi, Bernard A. Reinold, Charles Brook and Helen Lindroth.
Glen Hartranft, who is a freshman at Stanford University, will arrive home Friday morning to spend the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Hartranft.
Miss Ida Manter of this city and Miss Gladys Fitz of Garden Grove arriving a few days this week in Los Angeles where they are guests of friends at U. S. C.
Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Schletter returned Wednesday evening from Strathmore where they had been for a few days' visit. They were accompanied home by Mr. and Mrs. Dohm who will spend a short time in Anaheim at the Schlotter home.
Miss Kathleen Loly, who has been enjoying a vacation from her duties as teacher in the high school at Pasadena, spent a part of it at San Diego bay. While there she and her father had the pleasure of enjoying an aeroplane ride over the bay.
