INTERESTING RECITAL
Numerous friends and a number of pupils of Mrs. Siegel were present at the recital in the Guild hall of St. Michael Episcopal church Saturday afternoon. Five pupils, who had been taking lessons but two months, played their pieces perfectly.
The names of those taking part were: Jumita and Bernice Brownfield, Dorothy Newman, Margaret Fitzgibbons, James Fitzgibbons, Helena urtaton, Arthur Groos, Fay Balleau, Lydia Walker, Walter Wacker, Holius Luper, Misses Grauert, Dorothy Desch, Francis Mattis, Lydia stranskey, Priscilla Messina, Missmann and Mrs. Pauline Mang.
Unpromptly by Schubert, playful execution and artistic arrangement. Annemarie Siegel, as well as all other selections were greatly applauded by the large audience.
At the close Miss Elizabeth Siegel sang the Angel's Serenade from Bragg with flute obligato by her father.
A short social hour followed, during which ice cream and cake was served.
LEDUCS ENTERTAIN
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Leduc were host and hostess on Saturday evening at their home on N. Los Angeles-st to a number of friends who had been asked to meet their son, Mr. Dean Leduc, and wife., who arrived recently from Herman, Minn., and who are at home on the Leduc ranch west of this city.
The rooms of the Leduc home had been prettily decorated with American Beauties and other roses and a most delightful evening was spent in games with music and in visiting. At a late hour refreshments of sandwiches, salad, cakes and ice cream were served. Those who enjoyed the occasion with the host and hostess and with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Leduc were Mr. and Mrs. R. Carmichael, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Abbott, of Garden Grove, Mr. and Mrs Sanford Mr. and Mrs Follet, of Long Beach, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Kidd and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Mason Squier.
MEN TO DINE WOMEN'S CLASS
BIRTHDAY SURPRISE PARTY
Mr. and Mrs. Louie Heffner, Miss Agnes Weber and Glen Stillwell motorized to Los Angeles yesterday and attended Grauman's theatre, later taking dinner at a cafe. On returning to the Heffner home on S. Philadelphia-st, about ten o'clock they were greatly surprised to find a number of friends, who had gathered in honor of Mr. Heffner's birthday.
After congratulations and best wishes, the guests proceeded to have a good time with games, music, boxing matches and dancing. At a late hour a splendid supper was served, and it was well after midnight before the merry party broke up.
The guests included Misses Agnes Weber, Betty West, LeNette Ruele, Lydia Davis, Marie Hammon, Gay Cook, Gauldine Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Heffern, Measers Glen Stillwell, Royden Oamann, Walter Loescher, of Orange, Chas. Lumer, of Orange, Ivan Beltelin, Eugene Thomas and Hay Whitney, of Santa Ana.
S. S. BOARD MEETS TONIGHT
The Sunday school board of the Methodist White Temple will meet this evening. Supper will be served in the dining room at 6:20. Every teacher and officer is expected to be present. The hostesses will be Mesames G. H. Goodale ,D.M.Forsythe, R.C.Greggs,Dr.Alice Huhr and Miss Mildred Forsythe.

MEN TO DINE WOMEN'S CLASS
Members of the Fidelis class of the M.E. church, formerly the Woman's Bible class, are justly proud of the attendance at their class meetings and at their social affairs. They have an average attendance of 20 members who seem to take more than ordinary interest in the work to be accomplished and the lessons presented. On Easter Sunday the class presented to the church a beautiful wicker fern basket between four and five feet high. A recent social meeting was much enjoyed by the class in the church parlor, about 30 members being present. On the evening of April 15th the Men's Bible class will give a complimentary dinner to the Fidelis class in the church dining room. Mrs. W. A. Brown is the teacher of the Fidelis class and is always much gratified by the faithfulness of her co-workers.
DEPWEG-LUMPKIN NUPTIALS
A marriage license was issued in Santa Ana Saturday to Mr. Charles Lumpkin, of Anaheim, and Miss Marie Depweg, of Fullerton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Depweg.
It is understood the marriage took place today, and following a short honeymoon; they will make their home in Long Beach.
The bride has been cashier at the S. Q. R. store, and resigned a week ago. Both have many friends in Anaheim who wish them many years of happy wedded life.
75 ATTEND S. S. PIE SOCIAL
The Live Wire class of the Christian church held a pie social and kid parry at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rolla McClellan, Ball-rd. Friday evening. There were about 75 present, and a very pleasant evening was spent.
A short program was given consisting of readings, musical numbers and then later refreshments. A good sum was realized which will be used for class purposes.
TURKEY DINNER SUNDAY

Haasheider and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nigg and son, Elmer Jr., all of Covina; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Weise and son, of Long Beach; Miss Plattenman, of Oakland, and Miss Eather Baumgartner, of Los Angeles.

The executive board of the Anaheim P.T.A. will hold an important meeting, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of the president, Mrs.J.P.Brastad, N..East-st.. All members are urged to be present, as business of importance will come before the meeting.
Reciprocity Day Is Observed by Ebell
Reciprocity Day was observed by the Anaheim Ebell club today at which about 20 visiting clubs of the county were guests of honor. The meeting was held in the auditorium of the high school, and 75 visitors were present at the morning session, which began at 10 o'clock. Mrs.Frank Trotter delighted the audience with a vocal solo, after which a business session was held, the chief business being the nomination for the election of officers.
The hours between 12 and 2 were spent in social chats and in partaking of an excellent three-course luncheon served by the Anaheim club. Luncheon was served in the high school cafeteria.
The afternoon program was an unusually interesting one, several musical selections being given and Jas.W.Foley, of Pasadena, poet and humorist, giving the principal address.

SMOKERS MAY GIVE COUPONS TO LEGION
A big box has been placed in John Rushton's United Cigar store by the American Legion. Smokers who wish to help the local post can do so by dropping into the "American Legion Box" certificates and coupons received free with purchases at this United Cigar store agency. Rushton has contributed 100 certificates to start the hall rolling.
With United certificates the American Legion can obtain many of hundreds of useful premiums, standard articles for their club rooms.
OBITUARY OF MRS. H. C. RULE
Mrs. Hettie C. Rule, of Garden Grove, aged nearly 90 years, died on Sunday evening at 8 o'clock after an illness of about three weeks. The cause of her death was due to the effects of old age.
Mrs. Rule's maiden name was Hettie Farmer. She was born in Indiana and grew to womanhood in Illinois, where she met and married Hugh Rule. They became the parents of seven children, six of whom are still living. The surviving children are: S. D. Rule, Garden Grove; W. A. Rule, Reveria; Mrs. A. C.Powers and Mrs. F. Petrucilli, of Los Angeles; Mrs. Hattie Wetzel and Mrs Rhoda Brown, of Beaucoup, Ill.
There are also several grand children and great grand children. Mr. Rule died about seven years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Rule came to California 23 years ago and settled first in Los Angeles. Later they removed to a ranch west of this city and resided there until Mr. Rule's death. Since that time Mrs. Rule has made her home with her son, S. D. Rule.
The funeral services will be held from the residence on Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock. The residence is one and one-half miles west of the county hospital. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery, Los Angeles.

Mrs. W. J. Johnston arrived home Sunday from Willows where she spent two months in the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. C. Nygard, of Redlands, was a guest on Sunday in the Johnston home, 601 N. Los Angeles-st.
Robert Boyd, Jr., returned to Anaheim today from Aguilla, Sinaloa, Mexico, where he has been since last November, as chemist for the United Sugar Co. He will leave the latter part of the week for Columbus, Ohio, where he will be associated with his father, Robert C. Boyd, in the Central Auto Park.
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Jewell and children spent Sunday in Los Angeles where they were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wanty. They also had the pleasure of visiting with Mr. Jewell's cousins, Mr. and Mrs. J. Perking of Owasso, Mich., who are guests in the Wanty home also.
