Y. L. METHODISTS CELEBRATE
A number of Fullerton Methodists went to Yorba Linda last night where the pastor, Howard B. Clark, spoke in the newly acquired Methodist church. This is a new and promising field and the Methodists of Yorba Linda have been very fortunate in securing the beautiful church formerly used by the United Presbyterians for their permanent home. The service was in full charge of Fullerton people, as their contribution to the week of opening services being held in the new church.
DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
Mrs. Sophia Fleishman, of Huntington Beach, 67, died last night after a short illness at the Glendale sanitarium. The body was brought to the Scale undertaking parlor.
SHOULDN'T TURN THE HOSE ON
Secretary W. M. Irwin, of the Fullerton B. of T., is absent from his office and confined to his home as the result of blood poisoning, the infection coming from black dye in a pair of new socks.
H. B. Thurber and family have gone to Fallbrook for the week-end.
J. E. Seale of Fullerton went to Huntington Beach on business this afternoon.
The Fullerton Catholic church held a card party which was largely attended last night.
The regular story hour was held at the Fullerton library this afternoon from 2 to 3 o'clock.

Fullerton H. S. girls enjoyed the annual girls' high jinks at the high school auditorium last night. The program was in charge of Miss Shepardson.
Frank Collins was pulled off a Santa Fe train yesterday by Joe Marillo. Fullerton deputy marshal, sentenced to 15 days in jail by Judge Howard.
The force at the Fullerton office of the Santa Fe railway has been reduced by one man, J. H. Richardson, express cashier, leaving. Mr. Richardson has accepted a position as Fullerton agent of the Crown Stage.
The Laguna Beach art exhibit which has been at the Fullerton library for some time will be taken to Alhambra Monday. It proved a very popular attraction at the Fullerton library, Miss Minnie Maxwell, librarian, said.
Madge Kennedy will be seen tonight at the New Fairland theatre in "The Highest Bidder."
The feature of the program at the New Grand theatre tonight will be "The Torrent," starring Eva Novak and is one of the most entertaining and thrilling photoplays in recent months.
MISS DeWITT HOSTESS
Miss Opal DeWitt was hostess on Friday night to a number of girl friends, entertaining with a slumber party at her home, 415 S. Helena-st. The early hours of the evening were spent in visiting, with music and in making candy. This morning Miss DeWitt served an excellent breakfast menu. Those who enjoyed such excellent shape as to indicate that the amount of laughter will be almost continuous. Scores of local "quibe" and jokes at the expense of well-known persons are included in the rapid-fire schedule.
There will be singing, dancing, instrumental, cartoon monologue, dialogue, and dramatic numbers blended in what gives promises of being the best balanced and most entertaining program ever in Fullerton.
While all of the net proceeds of the show go to the fund of the local post, the members of that organization are basing their claims to public patronage mainly upon the excellence of the program and take pride in the fact that every person who purchases a ticket will get full value for the money expended.

Mrs. H. F. Burnham, who has been spending the winter with Mrs. F. C. Benjamin, left today for her home at Frederick, S. D. She will probably return to Anaheim next winter.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hartley of South Bend, Ind., have been guests past week in the L. E. Garretson home, Olive-rd.
Mrs. L. D. Witherell has returned to her home, S. Palm-st, after spending the past two months with her mother in San Francisco.
Mr. and Mrs. George Jackson, Syney Jackson and Miss Cathie Bell will spend tomorrow in Los Angeles where they will be guests of friends.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Walter of Nansen, Alberta, Canada, have been house guests for a few days this week in the D. M. Foraythe home, Burton-ave.

PLAN BIG TIME MOTHERS' DAY
Mothers' day, May 8, is to be the next great day at the Houser Bible class in Fullerton. Plans are being laid to have more than the greatest attendance of 538 on last Sunday discounted. A resolution has been passed to extend an invitation to all the American Legion and ex-service men or Orange-co to attend the class meeting on Memorial day, May 29. It is expected that on this latter day there may be gathered in Fullerton no less than 1000 men in the Bible study hour.
