This is what some miscreant did when he robbed a money receptacle at the Santa Ana Catholic church of some $40 or $80. The money represented offerings for the poor by members of the church during Holy Week. The fund was accumulated thru the lighting of candles on the candelabra maintained for the purpose, the individual giving whatever sum he felt inclined to give with the lighting of a candle. Some time ago the receptacle was robbed and the church was nearly set on fire by the thief. At that time the money container was all the foot of the candelabra and in his efforts to get the money the thief upset burning candles. That theft was discovered a few minutes after it occurred by the timely entrance of Father Eumelen. Later the contender was placed under the floor, with the money donations being conveyed to it by a tube. The box was fixed underneath the floor and against one of the outer walls of the church.
