The feature of the morning session was an address by Rev. Loren Howe on "Is Life Worth While." Rev. Howe stated that life is very much worth while if we make the right kind of use of it. We associate day after day with people to whom we can be of great service if we will. Our constant association makes it impossible for our lives not to be either beneficial or detrimental to others. He emphasized the row, with the knocking out of a par-influence of early home life on the individual and declared that if ever there was a need of autocracy it is in the bringing up of children.

He emphasized the row, with the knocking out of a par influence of early home life on the individual and declared that if ever there was a need of autocracy it is in the bringing up of children. However, this should not be abused, he said.
There was also a general discussion by V. V. LeRoy of Los Angeles, secretary of the club, relative to the expenses of our public school system and the fact that the high schools cost so much more than the grammar schools whereas only about one out of four who go thru the grammar schools continue thru the high schools. There was $45,000,000 spent in Cal. last year for educational purposes, it was stated, and there will be $65,000,000 spent this year. The trend of the discussion was that to much money is being spent on high school buildings, and that more economy should be practiced in operating our public school systems.
The speakers of the afternoon session were E. Ilffott Coit, author of "Citri-culture", and for many years the head of the citri-culture department of the Univ. of Cal. at Berkeley, and Prof. J. Booth of Chaffey high school. Mr. Coit spoke on his experiences in raising citrus fruits, and Prof. Booth of his new lessons and experiments along the same line.
There was a musical program. Percy Olds of Pontona rendered a number of vocal solos.
The next regular monthly meeting will be the 25th anniversary of the club. Mr. LeRoy has the distinction of having been the secretary of the club 22 years.

RELATE SCENES IN CAMP OF STILLMAN

The witnesses swore to repeated instances of alleged misconduct between the couple. One of them told of observing then a keyhole the banker’s wife and her legal companion together in Beauvais’ room in the Stillman lodge near Three Rivers.
The record shows that Stillman president of the National City bank, the first witness examined at the hearing, testified that he had only three children by his defendant wife, Anna Jas and Alexander. Asked if he had any other children, he replied in the negative, but the reply was stricken from the records on objections from Mrs. Stillman’s counsel.

Police have regained possession of Elisleben, Hettstedt and Mansfield after heavy fighting. Communist leaders in Ellenboug sought to negotiate a trace after their defeat, but the police refused to treat with them. They finally agreed to hand over all lot and ask communists thrust that district to surrender.
Charges that the German government deliberately forced the present revolution were made by the communists here today.
Thru their spokesman they declared the Ebert regime had two main objects in view — crushing of the workers preparatory to throwing the entire reparations burden upon them and demonstrating to the entente that retention of arms is necessary to overcome proletarian outbursts.
The government countered with the charge that the communists sought to instigate a revolution at a time the authorities were occupied with the Poles and reparations question, hoping it would spread through Germany and enable them to overthrow the present administration.
It was predicted that up-rising would be crushed by tomorrow.
ATTEMPT AT RECORD BY RICKENBACKER
Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker, famous American ace, flew across Orange-co for the first time today when he attempted to make a record non-stop flight from Durant Field, Oakland, to San Diego today. “Rick” had frequently flown from Oakland to Los Angeles but this was his first flight below Anaheim. Consequently, he was not familiar with the route and became lost. He left Oakland at 8:53 a.m. and passed over Los Angeles where he dropped smoke bombs at 11:10, but did not reach San Diego until 1:25 a.m.
The time to Los Angeles, 2 hours, 32 minutes is a record.
Friday of last week “Rick” flew from Los Angeles to the Brea aviation field which he experienced difficulty in locating on account of a mist, at one time finding himself over the ocean in front of Long Beach.
Present speed records between the bay cities and San Diego are held by army aviators who-frequently make the flight.
