ELABORATE EASTER MUSICAL PROGRAMS AT ALL CHURCHES
Beautiful Floral Decorations Will Supplement Song and Sermon in Breath of Spring.
Easter and springtime are synonymous. It is the glad time when every heart is stirred, when the spirit of good feeling becomes boundless. Easter is at our door, it beckons us to prepare for the joyous time, when we join with all Christian people thrustout the land in commemorating the resurrection of our Blessed Lord.
Following their usual custom, the churches and Sunday schools of our city will honor the day with elaborate musical programs, appropriate to the occasion. Beautiful floral decorations will be conspicuous in all the churches, and everywhere the breath of spring will prevail.

Anaheim for still another week continues to lead all other Orange-co cities in total of building permits since December. The Anaheim total for this period of less than four months is $621,480.
Anaheim's total was boosted within the last week by $49,850, making the total for this year to date $313,-$50, dropping behind Santa Ana slightly for the first time since Jan. 1. This is believed to be only temporary by Anaheim men acquainted with contemplated construction.
In fact, it was said today that if permits had been taken out for all buildings now under way, the Anaheim total for the year to date would exceed Santa Ana. The county seat recorded its biggest gain of the year this week, $91,825, largely accounted for by one permit of $65,000 for a greenhouse.
While Anaheim has issued $621,-480 building permits since Dec. 1, builders today stated there is more new construction being considered today than Dec. 1.

LIGHT VOTING AT SCHOOL ELECTION
Anahelm voters went to the polls today and cast their ballots for high school and grammar school trustees. The voting was light as usual in such elections. This was particularly true in the high school election where there were no contests. H. M. Adams running to succeed himself and Chas. Mann to succeed A. H. Witman. Anahelm was voting on high school trustees at the high school. Other districts voted at their respective school houses.
In the grammar school election there was a contest between A. H. Gunnett and E. H. Metcalf for the one position vacated by L. F. Pomeroy.
Rubber-Tired Tractor Attracts Attention
George Dunton, Ford and Fordson agent, has something new in the way of tractor displays in the shape of a tractor with rubber tires similar to solid truck tires. Put on display for the first time this week, a number of inquiries have resulted and it is probable several sales with such equipment will be made.
The purpose of such a tractor is principally for hauling heavy loads, as it can haul several heavy trailers, pull a box car around a railroad yard, etc. There are wide metal flanges in addition to the solid tires on the rear wheels, preventing the bull wheels sinking into soft soil. These flanges bear catches for containing chains to give traction.

Stone claims he acted as agent in arranging transfer of ranch property here from the Townsend to his aged foster father for a house belonging to the latter at Palm City. Stone says he lined up the deal last June 18. He estimates both properties worth about $8000.
He says Townsend failed to live up to the deal. The defendants deny any final papers were prepared.
Taking of testimony took two days. After the prosecution completed its case, the defense moved for court but the court overruled

Anaheim Gives $182 To Starving Chinese
Anaheim banks have received subscriptions to the Chit. Famine Relief fund totalling $132.50, declared Chairman H. H. Benjamin today. This has been done without a drive of any kind, the attention of the public being called to the great tragedy solely thru the press.
"Relief workers find that many of the Chinese, despite the fact they are starving, are too proud to accept charity, so the Red Cross has outlined a road-building project and the Chinese able to do little because of their yeakened condition, nevertheless aggregate considerable toward a needed improvement by thus appeasing their consciences before appearing the pangs of hunger," stated Benjamin.
"The country as a whole has been responding liberally to the needs of the millions who are without food, and considerable supplies have been sent over, but not enough contributions have as yet been made.

Adopt, Report of Chas. Eygabroad Calling for Development of Foreign Markets.
Definite arrangements for the shipment of both oranges and lemons by the way of the Panama Canal to eastern markets have been made, it was stated today by Charles A. Eygabroad following a meeting of the board of directors of the Calif. Fruit Growers' Exchange at Los Angeles this week.
Mr. Eygabroad, who is chairman of the export committee, also submitted his report and it was adopted. It provided among other things for the development of a market in Australia and Europe for sea-going shipments from the San Pedro harbor. Arrangements have already been made with the Holland-American and other lines for special rates on the citrus fruit of So. Cal.
Australia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and England are the markets to be worked up at present. Several shipments have been made in former years to Australia which show that it will become a paying market. Ten thousand boxes were sent to Liverpool on March 3, Mr. Eygabroad said.

TEUTON FORCES IN HOT STRIKE BATTLE
BERLIN, March 25.—While murder, battle, arson and pillage continued in mid-Germany today, the revolutionist movement gained renewed impetus by the declaration of a general strike, which has been called to take effect tomorrow morning.
Troops, with artillery and machine guns, came into action against the insurgents at Halle today.
There was an all-night battle at Eisleben, where an ammunition wagon was blown up and a battalion of police were surrounded and forced to fight for their lives in the darkness.
The strike was called by unanimous action of the communist executives. Workers are urged in the proclamations which have been issued to arm themselves and fight "to the death." Selzure of factories and sabotage on every hand have been urged.
Four thousand troops were rushed into Saxony today. They were to be quartered at Eisleben, where thousands of communists were flocking for a great demonstration tonight or tomorrow.
MRS. STILLMAN PLANS FIGHT FOR DIVORCE
NEW YORK, March 25.—Mrs. "Fifth Potter Stillman's plan of campaign to defend her honor and establish the legitimacy of her two-year-old son, Guy," was outlined today as follows:
She will concentrate every effort to prove that her husband, James A. Stillman, president of the National City bank, is "Franklin Harold Leeds," father of the two-year-old son of "Mrs. Florence Leeds."
If the court is convinced of this, Stillman will be unable to obtain a divorce in New York state, as the law provides that a complainant in such a suit must "come into court with clean hands."
This accomplished, Mrs. Stillman then would press her counter suit for divorce in a separate action again employing the Leeds situation.
LOSE $2 DAY DURING DELAY ON PARK BUY
Atty. Leonard Evans appeared before city council last night in the interest of H. W. Comstock, 204 W. Sycamore-st, whose property was included in the recent park purchase.
The check for $12,000 was not turned over, difficulties having arisen because of a bond for street improvements and an old bill for improvement on Sycamore which Comstock was to assume in return for addition of several feet to his property in changing the street line. Another difficulty arose over the fact for the development of a market in Australia and Europe for sea-goining shipments from the San Pedro harbor.
He stated that water transportation to the Atlantic coast demonstrates that lemons can be shipped successfully thru the canal on ventilated boats without refrigerators. It will be possible to obtain refrigerator boats for the shipment of oranges later. The water rate is about 45 pct. of the rail rate, including transportation to San Pedro by truck.
Plans are now being laid which are most important to lemon growers, since the lemon crop this next year will be marketed that way, to ship by boat to supply the Mississippi valley country. It is possible to take the fruit in large ocean-going craft to New Orleans which it is planned to make the distributing point for the Mississippi valley. From New Orleans the fruit can be taken in river steamers to Vicksburg, Memphis, St. Louis and points along the river as far north as St. Paul. By using the Illinois river and canal they could be taken to Chicago. From St. Louis they could also be taken up the Missouri river to Kansas City and Omaha. From California they could be taken up the Ohio river to Pittsburg. As can readily be seen this affords an immense market, the development of which will mean much to Cal. fruit growers.
Another meeting of the export committee will be held next Wednesday and a week from next Wednesday the board of directors will take up the matter again.
HALF-GROWN LYNX TRAPPED AT MINES
Did you know there were still to be found in wonderfully advanced Orange-co wild animals that would bite and scratch you to shreds! Today at the office of Eygabroad & Fisher, headquarters for the Silverado silver mines, there was a fair sample of such in the form of a young lynx that was captured near the mines yesterday when one too caught in a trap.
While only half-grown, the cat shows all the venom and ferocity of the species, growing like an Al G. Barnes lion when his cage is approached.

Another difficulty arose over the fact the property was under Torrens title while the city asks a regular certificate of title. The latter was an unexpected expense. The matter was referred to City Manager Steward.
During the delay, both the city and Comstock are losing interest at the rate of over $2 per day.
