THURSDAY, MARCH 24, 1921 GROVE PACKING CO. LEASES WAREHOUSE GARDEN GROVE, March 24—The Garden Grove Mutual Packing company have leased the Jack Jentges big warehouse building on Ocean-ave. The building will be enlarged and equipped with up-to-date machinery for packing oranges and lemons and will be managed by L. R. Eggleston, of Anaheim. The transaction was brought about by C. A. Emerson. The pupils of the eighth grade entertained the seventh grade with a party at the school house last Friday evening. The evening was enjoyed by playing games. Refreshments of brick ice cream and cake were served. A lot belonging to E. A. Pearson was sold this week to a Long Beach party by C. A. Emerson agency. The seventh and eighth grade boys motored to the Orange-co park Saturday and enjoyed the day rowing on the lake, hiking and other picnic pleasures. Mrs. Walter Grigg, who is ill at the local hospital, is doing nicely. The Nassau Helen and Alice Campbell, of Alamitos, the Misses Ida and Emily Skiles, Clarence Skiles and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Weethe, of Orange, were dinner guests Sunday at the John Ward home. J. G. Allen and M. B. Allen, accompanied by Rev. George Francis, of Orange, motored to Los Angeles Monday, Nov. 26, Thomas, of Escondido, returned home with them to visit his daughter, Mrs. George Tyler, for a couple of days. H. J. Hendrieks and Miss Ellis-beth Miller motored with Mr. and Mrs. George Messer, of Santa Ana, to Los Angeles Saturday, remaining over Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Durham. J. W. Arronhale left Saturday for his home at Spring Garden, Calif., after a ten days' visit with his mother, Mrs. Mary Arronhalt. Mrs. K. Bowl, of Santa Ana, is waiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Pollina. Mrs. J. W. Johnson, of Santa Ana, spent Sunday at the C. S. Holt home. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Schwieger motored to Arcadia Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Gene Coiffman. In the afternoon they all drove to Long Beach. Mrs. Pearl Haskim spent Sunday at Anaheim with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Willits. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, of Perris spent Saturday and Sunday with their son, Emmett Smith, and wife. Mr. and Mrs. William Morrell were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Holt. Eugene Snow is the owner of a new Hudson. Miss Margaret Buel, who has been ill at her home in Long Beach, has returned and is again teaching at the local grammar school. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard McKinley and daughter, Eather, of Wattas, were Monday and Tuesday guests at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. John Ward and Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Weethee. CHURCH Sunday will be an important day at the local Presbyterian church, when an elaborate Easter program will be held, beginning at 10 a.m. The exercises are in charge of S. C. Hartranft, assisted by Mr. Geo. Ross and a committee. The decorations will be in keeping with the day, and aside from a profusion of flowers, ferns and palms, there will be sweet singing birds. Special music will be an important feature of the program, and will include several appropriate selections on the Victoria. A reproduction of William J. Bryan's speech on "Easter" will also be given on the Victoria. Mrs Banby's class, and Miss Ramsey's class will have special parts. At the close of the program, Rev. Wallace will give a short address. Every day at the church and Sunday school is urged to attend. West Coast WEST COAST, March 24. Special— A very pleasant evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Maebe's birthday. The evening was spent in playing games and music, after which daily refreshments were served by Miss Evelyn and her girl friend, Miss Mary Stockton. The party consisted of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. James, of Hollywood, Mr. and Mrs. Moneroe Chambers and Mr. and Mrs. James and baby, of West Coast; Mr. and Mrs. George Wolfe, of La Habra; Mr. and Mrs. Williams and son, Lawrence, and Miss Victoria Taylor and Mrs. Lillian Brown, of Pasadena; Mrs. Emma Stockton, Mr. W. Mrs. Grace Williams has been critically ill at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas, for the past week.Mrs. Williams is much improved at this time and it is hoped that she will soon be up and about again. Sutherland has just returned from a trip to Sacramento, where she attended the convention of Royal Neighbors as a delegate.Mrs. Sutherland was honored by being elected to the second highest office, that of vice-grand oracle of the society of the state.Mrs. Sutherland took in all the points of interest along the route and reports having the time of her life. PLAN FRESNO, Mar. 24—Representatives of eight units of the State Dairymen's Association met at Fresno and adopted unanimously a resolution favoring practical steps to form a collective marketing association. The employment of market and standardization experts is planned to fix and regulate market prices. Eventually the aim is to take over island and second highest office, that of vice-grand oracle of the society of the state.
