Word has been received by Anhelm relatives and friends of the birth of a baby daughter to Mr.'and Mrs.F.R.York, now of Los Angeles, but formerly of this city. The little lady arrived Feb 25, Mr.York was a former teacher in the high school here.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Sullivan, of Los Angeles, are parents of a baby boy, born to them on March 1. Mrs. Sullivan was formerly Miss Margaret Cole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Cole, west of the city. She and the young son are at the Cole home. This is the first child in the family.
WOUNDED MAN TO BE ACCUSED OF ATTACK
A complaint charging assault with a deadly weapon with intent to commit murder will be filed against Yeeo Solorio, 50, alleged to have attacked Benigno Cardinez, 36, in a cook house at Talbert, last Thursday, according to Dist. Atty. A. P. Nelson.
Both men are in the county hospital where they are slowly recovering from wounds which they inflicted upon each other. Solorio is said to have been the aggressor, and it is alleged that he used a knife with a six-inch blade in his attack on Cardinez. The latter used a broken bottle in the fight.
COUNTY REVELATION TO RAILROAD MEN
Charles S. Fee, San Francisco, S. P., passenger traffic manager, and John Scott, general passenger agent, of Portland, Ore., were admitting to friends today that their "close up" of Orange county was a revelation to them, following a tour they made by automobile.
Fee and Scott, with F. S. McGinnis, general passenger agent, were guests of L. B. Valla, district freight and passenger agent.
Fee and Scott admitted that they had heard a great deal of the wealth of Orange-co but that they had not had a full conception of its vast resources until they saw them at first hand.
HUNGARIAN CABINET IS NEAR COLLAPSE
LONDON, March 3—The Hungarian cabinet is threatened with collapse in consequence of the strikes,
accompanied by unrest and disorders, says an Exchange Telegraph dispatch from Budapest today.
The Hungarian government is arresting strike leaders and agitators. Budapest is without newspapers.
REBELS CONTROLLED BY SOVIETS, CLAIM
HELINGFORS, March 3—Rebellions in Petrograd have been suppressed by the soviet government, according to dispatches here today. At one time striking workmen and multinous sailors and soldiers were reported to control most of the city.

TEST OUT BEER LAW
LOS ANGELES, March 3—Federal prohibition enforcement authorities are going to apply the acid test of a federal district court trial to the question of whether it is legal to interfere with home brewers and to have home brew in the home.
This decision became known today when Federal Commissioner Long held Charles Shaw to answer to the district court on a charge or having in his possession beer containing more than the legal one-half of one per cent alcohol.
VERNON SUES FOR $50.000
LOS ANGELES, March 3—Bobby Vernon, film comedian, today sued C. H. Christie, film producer, for $50,000 damages as a result of an altercation at the studio Tuesday.

GLASS PLANT BURNS, NEAR MILLION LOIS
BARNESVILLE, O.. March 3—Fire originating at the glass tanks of the Kerns and Gorsuch glass factory here early today resulted in the destruction of the plant, entailing a loss close to $1,000,000.
CONFEREEES AGREE ON 156,000 ARMY
WASHINGTON, March 3—In the final decision of the senate and house conferences on the army appropriation bill, a standing army of 156,000 was agreed on.

Oil Field operations reported the week ending Feb. 26, show 32 new wells started, compared with 23 the previous week; total new wells this year 221, compared with 151 same date last year.
Tests for water shutoff 18, compared with 28 previous week; yearly total to date 248; total to same date last year 208.
Deepening or redrilling jobs, 14, compared with 18 preceding week; total to date 144; total to same date last year 142.
Wells abandoned four, same as preceding week; total to date this year 41, total to same date last year 48.
PLEADS NOT GUILTY
Mike Callahan, who, according to the authorities, is an ex-convict, was arraigned before Superior Judge Williams on a charge of passing a worthless check for $15 on the Santa Ana branch of the Salvation Army. Callahan pleaded not guilty and his trial was set for March 16 at 10 a.m.
STANFORD GLEE CLUB COMING
Arrangements were completed this morning whereby the Stanford Glee club is to give a concert in Santa Ana on the evening of Friday, March 25.

COUNTY OFFICERS PRAISED
Traffic Officers Vernon Myers and H. S. Warner have received a note of thanks from "Oklahoma" Bob Albright, well known vaudeville singer, for quick work in recovering his stolen automobile.
B. Dupuy, driver of the alleged stolen car, is now in the Los Angeles-co jail charged with the theft. The car was stolen at 8 o'clock last Friday night and five hours later it was "spotted" by Officers Warner and Myers near La Habra.
